Position: Associate Brand Manager

Reports to: Head of Brand

Status: Exempt

Job Summary/ Scope:

The Associate Brand Manager is responsible for driving brand strategy, growing brand equity and increasing consumer demand (and consequently, market share) along with the Head of Brand. The Associate Brand Manager plays a role in consumer and retailer marketing initiatives to drive purchase consideration and build demand for assigned brands, resulting in sales and market share growth. This role is accountable for knowing the brand’s consumer deeply and leading a ‘consumer first’ mindset among cross-functional partners to ensure all brand initiatives (marketing, product, etc.) strengthen the brand and grow revenue. This role assists in marketing planning for assigned brands, helps develop the brand’s consumer communications strategy, and oversees execution of brand initiatives (advertising, media, in-store promotions, etc.).

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure consistent communication of the Brand Story across all mediums.
  • Understanding the competitive environment in detail across all channels of distribution.
  • Support the HOB in understanding and tracking primary sources of business and brand growth opportunities.
  • Along with the head of brand, develop and execute integrated marketing plans for key initiatives and product launches.
  • Partner with the Consumer Insights/Research team to develop research programs and surveys that help us deepen consumer understanding and uncover consumer and shopper insights.
  • Support the HOB in proactively measuring the effectiveness of marketing investments against agreed upon brand metrics/KPIs to inform optimizations and future strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to identify opportunities for line extensions, quantify the commercial opportunity of new product launches, and work with the HOB to develop and market these new products.
  • Partner with the Digital Marketing Manager to overlay brand programs on the brand's website that achieve brand objectives (sales, traffic, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Head of Brand and Sales team to build compelling products and sell stories to win distribution in new channels and retail customers to expand product distribution and accelerate sales.
  • With guidance from the HOB, develops consumer communication plans and media strategies, partnering with internal and external media agencies to drive brand awareness & equity.
  • Assist with Vallejo product showroom brand environments, including development of booth merchandising, planograms and merchandising logistics.
  • Review collection direction for retailer meetings and other needs.
  • Engage with license partners as needed.
  • Manage agency and internal creative services team in the development of new packaging concepts to ensure concepts are consistent with brand objectives and positioning.
  • Communicate brand marketing plans to cross-functional partners, Marketing Services, and/or external agencies to aid in executing the Brand Marketing Plans.
    • Write strategic and creative briefs.
    • Partner with various internal and external partners to support the PR team in amplifying marketing initiatives and ensure influencer and affiliate initiatives are on brand.
    • Work with the Digital Marketing lead and agencies to maximize ROAS and revenue from marketing creative.
    • Manage agency and internal creative services team in the development of new packaging concepts to ensure concepts are consistent with brand objectives and positioning.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align marketing strategies with sales goals, demand forecasting, and ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Sales on customer presentations and business opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Media teams to develop comprehensive marketing campaigns on retailer.com.
    • Collaborate with Sales and supply chain teams to drive effective retail execution and optimize brand. performance.
  • Manage the marketing budget, tracking ongoing marketing spend and code invoices to appropriate cost centers.
  • Provide coaching and onboarding of new team members or external agencies as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the Brand Management field, with proven ability to drive impactful results with modest means.
  • Prefer general experience in other areas of Marketing including engagement with or experience working in product marketing, product development, external creative/media agencies, and/or creative development teams.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and consumer insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrate ownership and a drive attitude.
  • Collaborate cross functionally and with key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of Meyer employees and vendors.
  • Able to give oral presentations and prepare professional presentations utilizing PowerPoint and digital media.
  • Detail-oriented and possess conceptual/creative skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and establish (and re-establish) priorities for self and team.
  • Working knowledge of cooking and/or baking is highly preferred.
  • Experience in budget management is preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, G-Suite and the Internet.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English both in verbal and written formats.
  • Must possess the mental and physical capacities to perform the job duties.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily indoors, although some outdoor tasks are required. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer, telephone, copy machine. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, use of both hands. Hours and days are primarily Monday through Friday with some evenings and weekends. Position requires close contact with Meyer employees and vendors.
