Who We're Looking For

The Recording Academy is seeking a temporary Content Creator to assist our Marketing team.

This social media-savvy, music-loving marketing professional with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Snap skills will support the Marketing department's storytelling and community engagement initiatives, including creating content for our TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Snap channels, expanding our creator/influencer marketing program, and executing groundbreaking, leading-edge strategy to drive interactive storytelling with our over 25,000 members, the music creator community, and music lovers at large through leading-edge social video content. The right candidate will be a music lover, obsessed with internet culture, and have a deep familiarity with Gen Z/young Millennial culture, habits, and preferences.

What You'll Do

  • Ideate and produce TikTok videos, Instagram reels, and Instagram posts aligned with the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs target audiences and brand identity
  • Brainstorm and activate innovative content ideas, trends, challenges, and campaigns to drive engagement on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Snap
  • Collaborate with the social media team to develop content strategies which optimize for virality and audience retention, including responding to/featuring comments or collaborating with 3rd-party accounts
  • Organize and execute content shoots
  • Project management for 3rd party design contractors
  • Edit on CapCut, TikTok camera, Snap camera and Instagram camera
  • Contribute to the Academy’s shared social content calendar
  • Analyze and optimize content performance, using data and analytics to adjust strategies and achieve goals
  • Stay updated on the latest TikTok, Instagram, and Snap trends, algorithms, and best practices to adapt and refine strategies accordingly.
  • Stay updated on the latest music industry, music tech, and social media trends to refine Academy social media content strategy
  • Foster audience engagement and community building
  • Identify collaboration opportunities

Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in Social Media, Content Creator, or similar role with a portfolio to back it up.
  • Expert level of proficiency in TikTok (required), Instagram (required), and Snap (medium proficiency OK)
  • Possess a deep connection to Gen Z and Millennial social media culture, habits, and preferences, ensuring the content resonates with our target audience.
  • Extremely creative and out-of-the-box, unconventional problem solver
  • Entertainment/media, preferably in the music industry experience preferred
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential, including the ability to present concepts verbally/orally
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media and music industry
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced team environment
