Job Description

With a deep understanding of foundational brand pillars, marketing objectives, and the creative direction the Senior Director, Social Creative is responsible for creating compelling, targeted, relevant and elevated content that both educates and entertains, surprises, and ultimately drives consumer engagement across all social & digital media, while meeting the standards of a luxury brand. The Senior Director, Social Creative needs to have a deep understating of the social world in all its iterations and be inspired by the possibilities that emerge from collaboration between storytelling, design and technology. This position will collaborate with brand, e-commerce, visual and merchandising and marketing teams to ensure that the work is part of a 360 & compelling integrated program and is strategically aligned with corporate goals. Excellence and refinement of execution is a key element of this position – we need to merge smart ideas with best-in-class social execution – that lives up to the luxury standards that DY requires. The work also need to live under the 360 umbrella and is specific and targeted to the channels we show up in.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & consistently optimize a best-in-class Social Media strategy that evolves the creative positioning & identity of the David Yurman brand to new digitally native audiences across multiple social / digital channels including Instagram, Tik-Tok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter & consult on Weibo, WeChat & RedBook with local agency.
  • Have a deep understanding of micro & macro influencer marketing strategies across on & off handles.
  • In partnership with the Social Media Marketing team develop compelling static & video content ideas and identify creative collaborators for all social media needs.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to plan the social calendar for all forward looking 360 campaigns to align with the cadence of brand & product storytelling.
  • Liaise with marketing leads to gain an understanding of all KPI’s to assess success of all digital creative. Distill key learnings and implement in all go-forward creative to heighten the impact of digital creative.
  • Partner with all senior leaders of the creative team to develop best-in-class / breakthrough text & graphic treatments that elevate & enhance all social media posts & the look & feel of all digital media marketing placements.
  • Lead the social creative team to ensure strategic Art Direction across all social & digital media shoots is managed from conception to delivery & interpreted across various audiences across the platforms.
  • In collaboration with the Media team, oversee digital media concepts, layouts & design.
  • Employ resourceful, creative thinking and an ability to anticipate business needs with the expectation to work 5+ months in advance of creative deployment, while remaining flexible to implement in-moment changes to content calendar or creative execution.
  • Possess an elevated taste level and an understanding of how to position a luxury brand in the digital space.
  • Remain current on emerging trends in digital branded entertainment and technology, to bring consistently fresh thinking and “state of the art” innovations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • 8+ years of social & media design & strategy in the luxury digital space.
  • 3+ years of on-set experience.
  • Innate understanding of Social & Digital Media including implementation across platforms.
  • Superior knowledge of elevating luxury social content: Photographer/DOP, hair, makeup, styling, video and still postproduction.
  • Expert knowledge of typography, color, usability, layout, production, and other design principles.
  • Ability to balance creative and conceptual thinking with sensitivity to user-centric design and experience whilst considering digital marketing best practices and creative excellence.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented, efficient, organized, self-starter, highly productive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Superior knowledge and skills with Adobe CS Suite.
  • Monday.com – Project Management Tool experience preferred.

Location: New York, NY

Working Mode: Hybrid

Estimate Salary Range: $180,000 - $190,000

Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, Summer Fridays (corporate roles), generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
