Overview

The Morrow Group, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, is seeking a Marketing & Publicity Assistant Manager to lead and execute fully integrated publicity and marketing campaigns for romance, romantasy and other genre fiction published by the Avon, Voyager, and William Morrow imprints.

This is a hybrid role based out of the NYC office.

Responsibilities

  • Conceives, develops and executes integrated, cohesive marketing and publicity campaigns for 6-8 books per season.
  • Creates a unified message for each campaign with the goal of securing media coverage as well as consumer and influencer activation through content creation, social media, newsletters, advertising, event opportunities and traditional marketing tactics.
  • Communicates detailed campaign updates directly to key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Oversees budgets for assigned titles.
  • Offers feedback to the editorial group on select author proposals, and represents the imprint in acquisitions meetings with prospective authors.
  • Fosters and maintains functional relationships with key social media influencers, broadcast, print, and digital media contacts.
  • Collaborates with Avon and Voyager imprint leads on social media strategy and content creation.
  • Engages with consumers across imprint social media and community platforms.
  • Assists with imprint influencer outreach programs.
  • Regularly presents at sales and marketing meetings .

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of marketing or publicity experience preferred
  • Excellent skillset in project management, communication, organization, working independently and presentations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across the division and within the company
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills, positive attitude, and a high level of professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social media best practices and how they apply to books as a marketing and sales tool.
  • Proficient in using major social media platforms and their in-app functions, including TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook.
  • MS Office Suite required, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design programs are a bonus
  • Passion for books

The salary range for this position is $58,500-$65,000 . We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
