The Social Strategist will be the brand’s eyes and ears on social and will partner closely with the full complement of Daniel J. Edelman, Inc. Digital solutions (experiential, influencer, digital transformation, web development, etc.) as well as other key disciplines (planning, creative, data, and intelligence, etc.) to ensure we’re delivering robust digital programs that help clients achieve their goals. The right candidate will be a part of content ideation and copywriting, channel strategy, and performance analysis. Social-first thinking is a must as is having a nose for real-time opportunities and social trends.

The Social Strategist also partners closely with the account and client teams to manage approved consumer responses, proactively flag opportunities to the team, and work with strategy and analytics to provide insights and recommendations based on what the community is saying and talking about across social platforms.

They must also have solid research, writing, and editing skills. They should have an appreciation for how social media impacts the overall customer experience. They should be flexible and agile and should be able to work collaboratively with all implementation teams to ensure that the brand’s communication objectives and strategies are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Find engagement opportunities for audiences across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other channels as needed
  • Exemplify the brand voice and tone in all community interactions
  • Craft copy for social posts and pitches
  • Work with the Creative team on campaign brainstorms and quick-turn social opportunities
  • Maintain an accurate and current content calendar, ensuring all updates and changes are reflected in the master document
  • Manage and organize content and assets
  • Proactively flag opportunities for the brand and escalate issues as needed in a timely matter
  • Work with strategy and analytics to provide learnings and recommendations based on current trends in the community and industry
  • Daily community management
  • Maintain and improve workflows and processes for community management and escalations


Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 1+ years of relevant experience in digital marketing and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media, and publishing.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Great writing skills and a strong grasp of major social media platforms are essential to this role. The candidate also must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. She/he/they must be proficient in Google programs (Sheets, Docs, etc).
  • Proactively flag opportunities for the brand and escalate issues as needed in a timely matter
  • Work with strategy and analytics to provide learnings and recommendations based on current trends in the community and industry
  • Maintain and improve workflows and processes for community management and escalations
  • A passion for social media, from both a branding and cultural perspective. Understanding of content best practices across social channels a plus. Knowledge of influencers/ tastemakers across social platforms is a plus. This candidate should also understand the importance of monitoring consumer conversations for relevant insights.
  • A broad understanding of digital marketing/communications for health brands, social media strategy, the latest trends and changes in digital as well as government policies regulating the health care industry.


$56,000 - $84,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
