Job Description

What the role is.

As part of a strategic shift for Visa’s global marketing, the new Global Content Strategy, Development & Distribution team was created to develop an always-on social capability to reinvigorate Visa’s presence on social platforms, develop content at the intersection of commerce and culture, and further innovate and guide how Visa engages with key communities.

In this role, you will support the content strategy and creative development of global social content as a Director of Global Content Creation, creating original content for all Visa’s social platforms that is highly shareable and engaging, while implementing a consistent approach to content strategy and creation with internal and external partners that supports brand and business objectives.

You will help build and grow agency, partner, creator and publishing partnerships, pulling in new resources and building out new capabilities to enable more creative, nimble, and community driven content and engagement with our many audiences.

Essential Functions (Required):

What you will do.

  • Develop and guide social content strategy for the brand
  • Concept and develop social content for use across Visa’s priority platforms and channels, a mix of internal, platform, campaign and publisher specific content.
  • Produce engaging content by leaning into audience insights and cultural trends and opportunities to clearly articulate Visa’s brand positioning and voice and align with its marketing objectives.
  • Co-manage creative relationships with agencies and other publishing partners with the ability to guide through creative vision and excellent feedback and collaboration,
  • Work in partnership with agencies to Identify, assess, and manage influencers/creators for content initiatives who resonate with the brand's target audience and values
  • Work cross-functionally and across Visa’s regions and markets to scale winning content
  • Partner with measurement to optimize content based on engagement and performance metrics.
  • Execute social content connected to global campaigns, including real-time sponsorship activation during and at events.
  • Act as a champion of social innovation and collaboration and inspire the marketing team to do the same.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8

years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/

MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of

experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years

of work experience with a PhD

  • 10 years experience in strategic and creative roles on the agency and/or brand

side managing digital and social marketing and content production while

collaborating with agency partners and cross-functional teams global teams.

  • A creative storyteller that is a highly organized content marketer with strong

project management skills.

  • You can help concept, craft and bring to life stories that resonate in culture and

communities.

  • You have deep understanding of the creative and production process, from

short-form to long-form content.

  • You have the ability to partner with social creators and work with influencer

content as a key part of Visa’s content strategy.

  • Must have the ability to work cross-functionally internally across stakeholders

and manage agencies and partners to develop a variety of different content.

  • Must have a firm understanding of social platforms and native content that

connects with audience on those platforms, particularly Gen Z. You have done

more than ad campaigns, you understand social behaviors and what connects

with a youth audience.

  • Bring fresh creative ideas to increase engagement in established and emerging

social platforms.

  • You have a bias for action, not bureaucracy, and are able to act nimbly and

quickly while rallying cross-functional teams.

  • An organized, independent, and deadline-driven individual with preferred

experience in a large creative organization focused on social content.

  • Must have proven ability to drive results with a high degree of personal

initiative and leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with limited

resources.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 163,800.00 to 213,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
