In 2012, the first Ethique solid shampoo bar, Mintasy, was made as an alternative to the 80 billion plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles thrown out globally every year. Since then, so much has changed, but sustainability is still at the heart of everything we do. Our ingredients remain: cruelty free and vegan, palm oil free, ethically and fairly sourced, we still pay staff a living wage, donate 2% of sales to charity and are plastic-free.
We don’t just make shampoo bars now either. We’ve ventured into skincare and products for your home and pets, with plenty more exciting products in the pipeline. All with the goal of preventing plastic bottles from being made and disposed of in landfills around the world.
Job Overview:
Ethique is seeking a dynamic and strategic PR & Influencer Manager with a strong executional capability to lead PR, influencers, and brand partnerships for the US, Canada, and UK markets. This role will oversee a winning earned media strategy to drive best-in-class programs for new product launches, key selling moments, brand development, and evergreen comms. This person will report to the Head of Engagement & Storytelling and will be instrumental in driving brand awareness among Gen Z and Millennials. The ideal candidate will have a beauty background and a proven ability to think strategically about amplifying brand initiatives for maximum impact.
Location: remote (NYC or California preferred)
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic PR, influencer, and brand partnerships strategies to drive brand awareness and foster brand advocacy among Gen Z and Millennials.
- Lead strategy & day-to-day execution of impactful paid influencer programs in conjunction with agency. Maintain strong brand equity while finding authentic ways to partner on shared content territories.
- Consistently manage influencer outreach list and identify opportunities to cultivate relationships with influencers that have an affinity toward the brand. Responsible for influencer ‘retention’, ensuring that there’s continuous contact with past partners.
- Develop and oversee evergreen seeding and launch seeding strategies
- Ideate and evaluate opportunities for partnerships to grow brand awareness and reach. Execute and amplify to drive brand awareness and affinity
- Manage PR agencies and oversee media relations, press releases, editorial affiliate, and media events to secure coverage and elevate Ethique's presence in relevant media outlets. Own weekly/bi-weekly PR meetings with PR agencies
- Utilize metrics and KPIs to track and measure the success of earned media initiatives, providing insights and optimization strategies to drive continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets effectively, ensuring maximum impact and ROI, and maintain organized calendars to coordinate and execute campaigns and initiatives in a timely manner.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven track record of success in PR, influencer management, and brand partnerships in the beauty industry.
- Strategic thinker with strong executional capability, able to translate strategic vision into actionable plans and drive results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Tribe Dynamics, the influencer/PR management and analytics tool
- Strong understanding of industry trends and best practices, specifically strategies on how to build winning EMV
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Self-motivated, results and solution oriented, strategic thinker
- Budget management experience and strong marketing calendaring skills.
