Description

Bloomsbury is seeking a dynamic marketing assistant to join the New York-based team of the Special Interest division, working on popular science, sports & fitness, religion, business, nautical, military, romance, and fantasy books. This position will perform key administrative tasks for the marketing department and will work closely with the marketing team to create high-impact campaigns across influencer, email, social media, and digital marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, creativity, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, a love of reading, and is a skilled verbal and written communicator. Written communication involves writing pitches, social media posts, and internal memos.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing team including book mailings, gathering title materials, creating sales presentations, and generating internal communications
  • Contribute to list marketing and title campaigns across a variety of nonfiction imprints
  • Assist Marketing Associate with influencer outreach and social media campaigns for fiction titles
  • Liaise with colleagues in sales and editorial departments
  • Manage titles, outreach, and approval for Netgalley accounts
  • Create and manage sales tools like Amazon storefronts, website superpages, and email marketing lists
  • Update imprint-specific marketing outreach lists for influencers, universities, and museums
  • Gather materials including author questionnaires, galley files, reading packets

Requirements

  • B.A, or B.S. degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field
  • Demonstrated skill in working in a professional media or publishing environment (prior office experience or internship) in marketing
  • Vested interest in book publishing
  • Experience with social networks including Instagram and TikTok
  • Familiarity with Biblio, Sprout Social, and Amazon Vendor Central a plus
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Must possess excellent organization, great attention to detail, and strong follow-up skills

Location

All candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area and be able to commute to our NY headquarters on a hybrid-remote schedule.
