The Marketing, Communications and Fundraising Division, reporting to the CMO, is a highly dynamic and collaborative team that is dedicated to driving a consistent, impactful brand experiences that encourages action. Simply put, we are champions of good marketing. We want to inspire relationships, not transactions -- across all key audiences – corporate partners, Large Public Institutions, policymakers, and employees.

Save the Children’s Managing Director, Social Media & Influencer Relations will develop the strategy, and oversee day-to-day execution, of the Social Media, Influencer/Creator & Entertainment Relations workstreams. In this role, you are responsible for creating an integrated strategy across these three teams, in support of the organization’s goals. The ideal candidate will balance innovative storytelling, purposeful messaging, brand strategy and data-driven insights to deliver an impactful and engaging social presence across owned and Influencer/Creator social channels, in addition to driving fundraising results within the Creator/Livestream ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Integrated Strategy 35%

  • Set a clear and unified strategy for the Social Media, Influencer and Creators team, aligning objectives and KPI’s with broader Communications team goals; Marketing, Communications and Fundraising division strategic initiatives; and agency steers.
  • Ensure that the right structure, resources and skills are in place for the team to consistently deliver measurable outputs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Guide engagement and fundraising activities both planned and unplanned, including campaigns, emergencies, and events, ensuring the team is ready to respond to rapidly changing external events in close coordination with senior management and the communications team.
  • Help the agency to ride the wave of public interest, trending topics and media focusing on the interplay of these channels (LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, etc) to introduce the brand to new audiences, engage and retain existing, and deepen familiarity and loyalty to the organization.
  • Support on tracking, optimizing performance and reporting, ensuring alignment with key objectives and measurable results.
  • Budget management plus other duties as required

Engagement and Growth15%

  • Play a key role in supporting the team’s relationships with agencies, influencers, creators and their representatives
  • Leverage best-in-class tools and processes for strategy build and ROI analysis on social media platforms and campaigns
  • Closely partner with social platform and digital SMEs to stay at the forefront of technology trends and emerging platforms, champion social and digital innovations and continuously further strategies to break through the social media landscape

Team Management 25%

  • Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise team of 8 marketing professionals working across social media, influencer, creator and entertainment verticals. Effectively communicating organization, division and department priorities, as well as how their work contributes to our mission at Save the Children. Ensure that the working environment continually fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging, aligning with Save the Children values
  • Cultivate individual talents and guide the team towards collective and personal successes
  • Ensure efficient ways of working within the team, division, domestic and global organization

Internal Collaboration and Alignment 25%

  • Collaborate closely with multiple internal stakeholders (fundraising and supporter growth; policy, advocacy and campaigns; programs; brand marketing; and CEO/senior management) to deliver on shared objectives.
  • Provide strong counsel to colleagues on social/digital/influencer best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience in Social Media & Influencer Marketing
  • Demonstrated understanding of the overall media and social landscape, with an emphasis on digital experience, including paid amplification and campaign optimization
  • Exhibits strategic vision and demonstrated understanding of influencer marketing, social media communication strategy, and content distribution channels
  • Proven expertise in managing owned social media channels and influencer programs
  • Ability to translate (sometimes wonky!) data into compelling stories
  • Insight-driven leader; ability to exhibit understanding of competitive landscape and use consumer-first mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritization ability, handle pressure and meet deadlines with a growth mindset while collaborating effectively with internal and external partners
  • Ability to express strong, clear POV and drive projects in the face of ambiguity and competing deliverables
  • Extensive experience and familiarity with a broad set of social and influencer analytics tools, databases and platforms
  • Prior experience leading a team
  • Demonstrated writing, verbal communications, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Self-reliant, inherently curious, results-oriented problem-solver
  • Budget management skills
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Non-profit experience is a plus
  • You are personally passionate about social media trends, influencers, creators and innovations

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $131,750 – $147,250 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $119,850 – $133,950 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $107,950 – $120,650 base salary

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
