Your Job

Community management is all about listening with empathy and understanding, gathering context, identifying opportunities/problems, and coming up with responses and solutions that will build brand love and customer affinity.

As the Brooks Social Media Community Coordinator, your role is to monitor and start conversations and build relationships with members of the Brooks community through social engagement. You will partner with our Manager, Social Media, Social Media Engagement Lead, and Influencer team to identify trends and build on insights from the community. You will play a key role in responding to our social media community and support a positive social media presence for our brand. In short, you are an extension of the Brooks brand, and often, our first line of defense. You love social media, understand the basics of social media execution, are full of creative courage plus intuition, and demonstrate strong initiative. You should be in tune to the running lifestyle and know what resonates with runners.

Excellent communication skills, a passion for the Brooks mission “to inspire people to run their path to a better self” and a love for social media engagement is key to your success in this position!

Responsibilities

  • Identify and connect with fans, super users, influencers, and advocates to increase reach and engagement
  • Manage communities on branded social properties (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Strava, Threads, etc.)
  • Maintain a consistent tone and voice that is aligned with the brand, channel expectations and target audience
  • Filter, tag and respond to mentions of advocacy and education on social media in real-time
  • Discover trending topics, community needs and audience interest and flag internal teams when-needed
  • Find and monitor themes and conversations across social media and respond to comments across multiple platforms
  • Generate insight into community performance and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain a seeding program that is organized, efficient and has ROI
  • Assist with generating insights, pulling data, and providing recommendations to optimize community management through reporting, both monthly, campaign and ad hoc
  • Assist manager and broader team with content projects like capturing a trend or establishing the brand on Strava
  • Assist team with the execution of our social media strategy to grow engagement, increase exposure and mitigate risk
  • Keep up to date on social media platforms, tools and technologies and share relevant new trends with the broader team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of professional community and/or social media experience preferred
  • 1+ years of experience writing social media copy preferred
  • Experience using social listening tools to gauge conversation (Netbase, Sprinklr, Emplifi, etc.) and scheduling/posting tools (Sprinklr, Emplifi), preferred
  • Strong command of MS Office applications
  • Knowledge and confidence to develop and communicate a point of view
  • Creative thinker who is always looking for new ways to interact with our audience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization, and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all the pieces fit together and affect one another
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary
  • Strong understanding of the runner and needs of the runner

Compensation: The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $24.46 - $34.25 per hour. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
