Overview

This seasoned project manager plans, monitors and manages internal projects from initiation through completion for Compassion's Church & Influencer Partnerships division. The project manager also secures required resources, and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. He or she manages fundraising projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs. At this career level, the incumbent generally manages projects independently or participates as a team member for major, complex, or international projects and may coach or oversee the work of other project managers.

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • The primary purpose of this seasoned professional includes using discretion and judgement to independently lead project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management on moderately-complex projects.
  • This seasoned incumbent effectively uses structured project governance systems for monitoring and tracking deliverables and resolving issues, ensuring delivery to the project plan and budget on significant projects.
  • The project manager applies professional project management skills to plan, monitor and manage fundraising projects from initiation through completion. This includes developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project and driving the project to successful completion.
  • This incumbent provides for progress reporting, troubleshooting and people management, to include organizing and directing team members, and ensuring that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.
  • The project manager monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions.
  • This seasoned incumbent ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
  • The incumbent may coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the project management discipline.

What do you bring?

  • 7+ years relevant work experience as a project manager
  • Strong proficiency in Smartsheet
  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or certification
