Accountabilities
Essential Functions:
- Produce well-researched, engaging content for publication online and in print that highlights the school’s mission and impact.
- Develop and share inspiring student and staff stories that showcase achievements and community contributions.
- Create and refine talking points for various presentations and public engagements.
- Organize writing schedules to ensure timely completion of drafts and finished projects.
- Utilize industry best practices and an understanding of our mission to inspire content ideas.
- Collaborate with staff, administration, and vendors to ensure cohesive communication efforts.
- Follow an editorial calendar, working with vendors and Development and Communications team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Develop related content for multiple platforms, including websites, email marketing, videos, and blogs.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement.
- Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to enhance the online visibility of our content.
- Assist in the creation of presentations and materials for school events and public speaking engagements.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts by creating compelling narratives that resonate with potential donors and partners.
- Engage with the community to build and nurture relationships that support the school’s mission and fundraising goals.
Marginal Functions
- Additional duties as assigned.
Conditions
Equipment Used: Computer, keyboard, multiline telephone, smart phone, copy machine, and printer.
Performance Standard: Must represent the School and its concerns accurately and positively through all content.
Work Schedule: 37.5 daytime hours M-F. One-hour daily unpaid lunch; flextime scheduling is possible. This position follows a twelve-month work schedule.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills And General Abilities
- Minimum Bachelors Degree
- 2 years of professional content creation experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Wordpress platform preferred.
- Adaptable to changing priorities in order to take advantage of opportunities to enhance MSB's visibility.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
