What You’ll Do
The Senior Director, Marketing is a critical leadership role on the Loungefly brand team, responsible for providing strategic brand and marketing oversight to further drive our impressive growth in the unique space where fashion, fandom and pop culture collecting meet. A member of the Loungefly brand leadership team, the ideal candidate will drive brand growth, plan and develop impactful multi-channel marketing campaigns, and lead a team of high-performing creatives and marketers to unlock the next phase of growth for the brand.
The Sr. Director in their role provides strategic leadership and direction for the Loungefly brand and builds/oversees all marketing efforts aimed to drive brand awareness and desirability, as well as support key product line launch and sell-through while maintaining best-in-class fan connectivity through social media channels, key retail and licensor partnerships and Loungefly.com storytelling. They will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to achieve business objectives, while also supporting evolved ways of working to drive continued growth and evolution for the brand. Reporting to the GM of Loungefly, this role will collaborate with senior leaders across functions and regions to drive alignment and scalable processes to ensure cohesive brand presence globally.
The Sr. Director will lead, develop and oversee the Loungefly Marketing team including Integrated Marketing, Social Media, Influencer Marketing and Creative Marketing functions. They will craft and implement a Marketing calendar and drive identified campaigns and stories from brief to execution, delivering cohesive strategies that achieve business and brand goals. They will lead brand paid media efforts and effectively manage the budget. The Sr. Director is also a collaborative leader, able to partner cross-functionally with PR, eCommerce, Sales and Product/Merchandising to ensure connectivity and alignment in a fast-paced and dynamic organization.
Loungefly needs a leader for the role who can craft a marketing strategy that effectively engages and fosters our core consumer base, while also extending the brand to new audiences. The ideal candidate is agile, able to navigate the distinct worlds of fandom and collectibles, while also bringing a deep understanding of the fashion, accessories and apparel spaces. The Sr. Director thrives in a fast-paced environment, can lead through both influence and authority, and is able to envision and action ways of working beyond the status quo, building a solid foundation for growth with an emphasis on test-and-learn and consumer connectivity driven through a social-first lens.
Your Superpowers in Action
- Lead the development of Loungefly’s brand strategy, ensuring alignment cross-functionally and with the Senior Leadership Team
- Establish brand voice and visual identity, amplifying across channels and regions to drive cohesion of the brand globally
- Oversee all integrated go-to-market strategies that include social media, events, product marketing, public relations, paid media and brand/creative. Ensure consideration for and support of wholesale marketing initiatives; both through in store visual merchandising and with strong digital presence.
- Drive the development of brand collabs and speed to market programs/opportunities, assisting in talent engagement, contract negotiations and disruptive launches to drive impact and heat.
- Implement process for cross-functional insight into brand marketing efforts, including peers/partners in Product, Sales, DTC and cross-brand leadership. Ensure socialization and evangelization of the Marketing team’s work and impact across the organization
- Manage a marketing budget that achieves upper funnel awareness and impressions, while partnering with performance marketing to drive conversion on site. Drive strategy across both teams to ensure that upper/lower funnel objectives are being met and that paid media spend is being maximized.
- In partnership with the Sales team and external agency, manage Amazon paid media spend, including sponsored brand/products and DSP campaigns
- Partner with business, product, and sales leads to align Marketing plans to strategic business objectives and milestones such as awareness and sell through of new product lines
- Be a steward of the Loungefly brand, fostering community, inclusivity and delight both internally and with our fans
- Lead the development and cross-functional alignment of the annual Marketing calendar to inform campaign and story creation and prioritization, product development and aligned assortment, and robust sell-in material.
- Lead and develop the Loungefly Marketing team, driving to best-in-class capabilities and partnership across all departments, instilling a culture of collaboration and curiosity, with results driven mindset
- Develop and oversee social and influencer marketing, identify strategies to nurture our incredible fan base while reaching and retaining new fans
- Collaborate across shared marketing services and brand marketing leads to share best practices and maximize on cross-brand opportunities
Must-Have Superhero Gadgetry
- 8-12 years' experience in Marketing, including 6+ years managing teams
- Experienced leader with ability to set the vision, create and develop processes to enable the work, and coach/develop team members to achieve their highest potential
- Natural collaborator with team-first mentality; can lead both through influence and authority
- Experience working within and developing integrated marketing strategies for an omni-channel, global consumer brand
- Ability to work across the art and science of marketing; knows how to interpret data, extract insights, and leverage them to tell creative, innovative stories
- Tapped into pop-culture and fandoms; understands consumer affinities across film/television, music, sports, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to think from a consumer lens; always puts the fan at the forefront of strategies, programs and initiatives
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $150,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
