Service is looking for a sharp, culture-obsessed Senior Copywriter to join its Los Angeles/Portland team working on a major tech brand to drive the tone of voice and creative copywriting for the brand’s social channels. The role will mainly be focused on developing a variety of evergreen and campaign content ideas for the brand’s social channels and beyond, as well as writing copy and scripts for social content and client-facing presentations.

Above everything, you’re an amazing writer. But in the internet sense. You’re just as comfortable writing meme captions as you are an inspiring brand manifesto. You’re stickler for the rules when it’s called for, but you also know when to let go when the idea calls for it. As a social native, you instinctively know the kinds of ideas that will fly in-feed and have a knack for expressing them in ways that clients love – both in decks and in meetings. You know how to think small and nimble, as well as big and bold, and you’re equally happy doing both. You are experienced, and knowledgeable on set, in pre-production, and in post-production to make sure your ideas come to life as intended and as strong as possible.

You’re comfortable working as part of a small multi-disciplinary team, chipping wherever needed and no ask is too small or too big for you. You work hard to match and honor the dedication and time of your teammates. You ask questions, you are curious, you take direction well, and you are open to trying new things. Your day-to-day work will include working with a Sr Art Director partner, Content Creator and Designer to create assets across multiple platforms for our client. You will also have the support of a Creative Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing innovative, fresh, and impactful concepts for – but not limited to - original social content and campaigns, alongside the rest of the Creative team
  • Writing and editing copy for social campaigns, taking on everything from social copy to scripts and brand manifestos
  • Participating in brainstorms, communicating concepts and taking direction / feedback from Creative Director, strategy and account leads
  • Working alongside the rest of the creative team to turn creative concepts into compelling presentations that bring the idea to life for clients and internal teams
  • Confidently presenting creative ideas to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Collaborating with Sr Art Director to bring to life concepts through storyboards and scripts
  • Collaborating with the Content Creators and Production teams to ensure the team’s creative vision comes to life in the final product
  • Work alongside our clients other agencies on cross-channel campaigns
  • Keep up to date on the latest cultural and platform trends
  • Keep up to date with the latest brand technology, products, and features

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years experience in a copywriting role, either in an agency, in-house brand, or social publisher
  • Excellent social-first creative thinking, demonstrating a passion for, and understanding of, social media and youth culture
  • Strong experience in bringing concepts to life through compelling creative presentations and scripts
  • Flawless spelling and grammar
  • Strong production on-set experience, working with producers, directors, and editors to guide final content
  • A knack for channeling different editorial voices, and an understanding of brand audience — what they care about and what they share
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills to deliver on multiple projects without close supervision
  • The ability to collaborate across internal teams, clients and partner agencies
  • Commitment to excellence – working nonstandard hours when necessary, anticipating issues and communicating with diplomacy
  • Proficiency in Google Docs/Slides, MS Office and Keynote

Base salary range: $100K-$125K plus bonus potential.

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
