Who We Seek:

Playboy is seeking an experienced VP/Executive Editor to lead content strategy and drive growth across Playboy.com and our digital content verticals. The ideal candidate in this role possesses strong knowledge across a wide spectrum of mainstream/SFW lifestyle topics, as well as experience in running newsrooms with a strong news background. A passion for sports and adjacent topics is a plus. The editorial lead will play a key role in driving the voice and growth strategies to develop Playboy.com into a marquee destination for users to experience unique/engaging content. The person in this role will also work in tandem with our creator, social, affiliate/social commerce, magazine, marketing, and product leads to help support broader business/revenue goals and accelerate the growth of our commerce experience across our digital platforms.

What You’ll Do - Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all editorial content across Playboy.com and all related digital verticals and other digital editorial channels.
  • Manage our master editorial calendar, track performance of all content and develop new strategies based on data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and evolve both our unique brand of creator + editorial-driven content and the team of editors and writers responsible for creating the daily flow of stories
  • Use SEO standards to integrate affiliate links and promotional content into articles while
  • maintaining editorial integrity.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize content strategy and drive sales.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and algorithm changes to ensure content remains relevant and effective.
  • Contribute creative ideas for content initiatives, partnerships, social franchises and marketing campaigns to drive audience growth and engagement.
  • Build the editorial teams as we continue to grow and expand into relevant verticals that are organic to the Playboy audience.
  • Constantly seek and activate new channels to drive traffic growth including (but not limited to) syndication partners, external content partners, social networks and email.
  • Meet with external partners on any business opportunities related to the growth of Playboy.com’s traffic and audience footprint.

What You’ll Bring - Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field, preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience (5-10 years) leading newsrooms and/or editorial teams with demonstrated and sustained audience & revenue growth across digital platforms
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and rally teams as well as mentor and elevate junior employees to help cultivate their future career growth trajectory
  • Experience in developing commerce-related content, preferably for e-commerce websites,
  • digital publications, or marketing agencies.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to quickly learn about new products and industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to base content decisions on informed data-supported
  • evidence.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work under deadline and flexible schedules as needed to meet business objectives
  • Proficiency in SEO best practices and the ability to optimize content for search engines.
  • Experience with affiliate marketing and knowledge of FTC guidelines.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS, Semrush, and Yoast.)
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and consumer trends.
  • Able to work flexible hours based on business needs

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $225,000-$250,000 annually however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
