CDI - DIRECTEUR COMMERCIAL & COMMUNICATION
CONTEXT
The Sales and Communications Director is responsible for developing product sales for 3 activities on the American market, in accordance with the commercial strategy defined by the External Markets Department.
The 3 activities are as follows:
- Métaphores , a pioneer in the weaving and production of fabrics for interior decoration, Métaphores is a recognized inspiring and contemporary brand, linked to the Hermès textile industry.
The United States is the first market for Métaphores with significant growth potential. The brand is distributed by our partner Kravet, a leader in the interior design industry. Represented in a network of 24 showrooms including 8 “shop in shop”, Métaphores is part of the premium offer. In his role, the Sales and Communication Director aims to maintain a solid relationship with our unique partner, to propose a clear vision and to animate all the levers of the sales and communication strategy in order to increase the revenues and visibility of the brand on its market.
- Bucol, creator of high-end fabrics since 1924, Bucol offers creative and innovative textiles for the creation of many creative worlds.
In the United States, the brand's development is focused on two segments: Ready-to-wear textiles and Accessories (scarves, towels, blankets) for contemporary and luxury brands.
- HCP for Hermès Cuirs Précieux, is a leather supplier specializing in the tanning and marketing of exceptional leathers. In this role, the Sales and Communication Director will have to develop sales on existing relationships with key players in the leather goods industry and prospect new customers capable of generating a volume strategy.
With a great deal of autonomy in its operation, he/she defines and implements the strategy of each activity in his/her region. He/she activates all the levers with the primary objective of growing the turnover and the profitability of the structure. He/she demonstrates a great capacity to develop sales in the varied sectors of fashion, furnishing fabrics and exotic skins.
- In the upholstery fabrics business, he/she demonstrates a great ability to maintain a strong and close relationship with our local partner, essential to the growth of the Métaphores brand in the United States. He/she leads the online communication strategy with the Paris management, and promotes the brand image with our agent.
- For fashion and leather activities, he/she establishes strong relationships with existing premium players. He/she shows a strong entrepreneurial spirit to identify new opportunities and new customers in his/her market.
The Sales & Communication Director manages a team of 4 people, across the Commercial, Marketing and Sales Administration / Customer Service functions. He reports to the External Markets Director located in France and interacts effectively with his peers in the organization.
MAIN MISSIONS:
- Participate in the construction and implementation of the commercial strategy of the 3 activities
- Responsible for budgets, re-estimates and three-year plans (B+2 annual) for the various activities in his area.
- Drives and manages the subsidiary's P&L with the aim of net profitability.
- Identifies growth levers, implements the most effective commercial actions and initiatives in terms of generating turnover in an approach.
- Defines and controls budgets by season and by client.
- Ensures regular monitoring of its activity and shares arbitration recommendations with its management.
- Constructs monthly reviews of quanti-quali performance (turnover, product performance, showroom profitability, prospecting plan, etc.).
- Participates in discussions on brand positioning (collections and prices).
2. Develop turnover and communication
- Plays an influential role with relevant stakeholders (customers and press), brand ambassador.
- Promotes the activity through targeted events to gain visibility.
- Improves customer knowledge, ensures regular monitoring of trends in its market and leads competitive intelligence in its market (collection, price, distribution, communication)
- Monitors the sampling policy in coordination with the teams in France.
- Guarantees the effectiveness of collection and new product launches in the network of local showrooms.
- Ensures the quality of our brands' image, develops the communication initiatives necessary for their visibility and manages the associated budget.
- Participates in major Design events (Paris-Déco-Off, Salon du Cuir, Salon du Meuble in Milan).
3. Lead the sales teams (sales and customer service)
- Promotes teamwork and ensures perfect operational agility.
- Motivates sales teams to achieve their sales targets and frequently participates in showroom level sales briefings.
- Optimizes customer service and manages customs documents relating to export
- Conducts annual interviews in a spirit of requirement and support
- Offers training and development activities conducive to the progression of its employees and their skills development.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, marketing and/or communications roles

In his/her role, the VP Sales and Communication has for objectives to foster a solid relationship with our unique partner, to propose a clear vision and develop all levers of the commercial and communication strategy to grow the business and visibility of the brand locally.

In the US the brand's development focuses on two segments, Ready to wear textiles and Accessories (scarves, towels, plaids) for contemporary and luxury brands.
- HCP for Hermès Cuirs Precieux, is a hide supplier specializing in the tanning and commercialization of exceptional leathers (exotics, calf and goat leathers). In this role the VP of Sales & Communication will need to build revenues on existing relationships with key players in the small leather goods industry and develop new clients capable of generating a volume strategy.
With a great autonomy in your function, you must propose and implement the respective strategy of each activity and aims to contribute to the growth of the structure's turnover and margin.
You must demonstrate strong capabilities to lead and grow the business in various fields such as highend apparel, home furnishing or precious leather skins.
- In the furnishing business, you will efficiently negotiate with our agent to maximize our visibility, revenues, and profits through the territory. You must ensure a perfect alignment of our communication strategy in line with Paris direction and promotes the brand image with our agent. Demonstrate capabilities to manage a close relationship with a key partner which is essential for the brand's growth as well as feeding Paris' headquarters with trends, competitive development.
- For fashion textile and leather, reinforce established relationships with upscale players. Demonstrate strong entrepreneurial capabilities to find new markets and customers throughout the country.
The position requires an acute understanding of the regions, a close connection with the market (partners, clients, competitors…) as well as a direct coordination with the teams in France.
The Director of Sales & Communication leads a team of 4 direct reports, including Sales, Marketing & After-Sales Service. This role reports to the Managing Director of External Markets based in France and interacts effectively across the organizations at all levels.
MISSION & GENERAL ACTIVITIES
Responsible for the commercial strategy of 3 activities
- Responsible for the budgets, re-estimates & 3 year plans (annual B+2) of the different activities on his zone, in line with the group management.
- Creates & adheres to the annual P&L, ensuring net profitability of the division.
- Defines and controls budgets by season and clients, reviews sales performances monthly with management, providing efficient assessments and action plans.
- In charge of quantitative and qualitative reporting of business activity (sales turnover, product performance, prospecting plan, communication strategy, etc.)
- Collaborates to the brands positioning strategy for collection and pricing plans.
Develop the sales and communication initiatives
- Ensures as a brand ambassador, a role of influence with regional clients and press.
- Develops communication initiatives to gain visibility and increases brands' awareness, controls the budgets.
- Identifies markets' opportunities to increase sales, develops clients' knowledge
- Keeps track and shares competitive trends (product, price, distribution, communication strategies).
- Controls the sample campaigns and budget in coordination with teams based in France.
- Develops strong launches for collections and novelties with the local network.
- Participates in international events (Paris-Déco-Off, Leather Salon, Salone del Mobile in Milan).
Manages the commercial team (sales & customer service)
- Promotes teamwork and ensures perfect operational agility.
- Motivates commercial teams to achieve their objectives and participates frequently at showroom-level to sales and collections' briefs.
- Fosters customer service and organizes international trade documents.
- Empowers the team competencies and engages team annual reviews in a spirit of high standards and support.

The range for this position is $141,899.94 to $236,499.90 annually. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
