Description

Lead the creation, publishing, and execution of social media content across multiple platforms to support the NCAA’s brand and strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary social media lead and day-to-day poster for the NCAA’s national office accounts across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and others.
  • Plan, execute and evaluate social media campaigns aligned with broader NCAA content strategy and brand objectives.
  • Maintain and grow the NCAA’s social media presence with timely, trend-aware content that resonates with target audiences.
  • Apply graphic and video templates to produce engaging content; deep video editing expertise is not required, but a strong understanding of social-first visual storytelling is essential.
  • Track performance metrics and pull platform analytics to inform decision-making and demonstrate alignment with strategic goals.
  • Support internal and external partners through social activations, particularly around Championships, DII and DIII initiatives.
  • Ensure brand consistency by following NCAA social media style guides and established voice and tone.
  • Stay on top of platform updates, trends, and emerging best practices to ensure NCAA content remains relevant and innovative.
  • Translate digital and written content into compelling social media storytelling that champions student-athlete experiences.
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal teammates and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, marketing, digital design, journalism, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or publishing.
  • Proven ability to run brand social accounts and create platform-specific content optimized for each audience and format.
  • Demonstrated experience using social media scheduling and publishing tools such as Sprout Social; experience with project management tools like Asana and familiarity with social listening tools is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.) and or other templated design platforms.
  • Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
  • Familiarity with current digital trends, memes, and best practices across platforms.
  • Ability to synthesize analytics and insights to inform creative decisions and strategic direction.
  • Basic knowledge of mobile photo/video capture and social-first editing techniques.
  • Understanding of college and pro sports culture, with a passion for elevating the student-athlete voice.
  • Estimated Travel Required <30%.
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
