Role Summary

We’re looking for an accomplished Social Media expert to lead and execute our organic and paid social strategy across all major platforms. You’ll be both strategist and storyteller—owning social media planning, influencer marketing, content development, audience engagement, and performance analysis. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our brand, creative, media, SEO, and performance teams to increase brand awareness and consideration.

You’ll also have a unique opportunity to help define TaxAct’s tone of voice on social and shape how we show up in culture.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute strategic, platform-specific social media plans to drive brand awareness and consideration, content engagement and site traffic
  • Own the end-to-end planning process—from budget and goal setting to production timelines and content calendars, media channel mix and asset needs for paid and organic social media
  • Build social media investment strategy in collaboration with brand and performance media leads
  • Drive integrated content strategy and write clear and effective creative briefs, working with internal and external creative teams to develop high-performing creative assets
  • Ensure timely development and deployment of high-impact, on-brand social media assets
  • Build and manage influencer marketing campaigns—from identifying and vetting creators to contracting, briefing, and measuring impact
  • Collaborate with brand creative lead to refine TaxAct’s social tone of voice and visual presence
  • Collaborate with the SEO team to align on content strategy, keyword opportunities, and search-driven insights that can enhance social content performance
  • Monitor, measure, and report on the performance of social campaigns; use data-driven insights to optimize content and inform future plans
  • Develop and deliver executive-level presentations to communicate strategy, campaign performance, and business impact to senior leadership
  • Stay ahead of trends, platform updates, and cultural moments to identify test & learn opportunities in established and emerging channels
  • Regular reporting of brand and competitive insights via social listening
  • Champion social and influencer best practices across the organization

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience managing all aspects of social media activation: from media strategy to through content development and deployment
  • Platform specific expertise in established and emerging social media channels
  • Hands-on experience building and managing influencer marketing campaigns (micro to macro)
  • Proven ability to lead both strategy and execution, including end-to-end social campaign planning and performance optimization
  • Experience developing presentation materials and presenting insights, plans, and recommendations to senior executives
  • A collaborative and results-oriented mindset: driving cross-functional integration to optimize performance across channels
  • Deep understanding of performance metrics and social analytics (e.g., Hootsuite, native platform insights)
  • Experience in financial services or tax-related industries is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
  • Passion for culture, creativity, and helping people feel empowered in their finances
