Social Media Content Specialist

The Social Media Content Specialist role is the first of its kind at Lyft and offers a unique opportunity to shape the voice, content, and personality of Lyft as a social media brand. This role reports to the Director of Social Media and a vital member of the newly formed social media and brand marketing team.
Lyft is looking for a creative, experienced, Social Media Content Specialist. The ideal candidate is someone who lives and breathes internet culture, has a strong intuition for community engagement, is a data-driven champion of social media best practices, and has a knack for building brand personality through social media copy and content.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the "voice of Lyft" across all channels by developing post copy, creative content, and responses that drive daily engagement with Lyft social media followers across all owned social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook
• React and adapt to new and emerging platform changes and best practices, educating cross-functional teams on the opportunities and impact
• Lead the day-to-day content strategy, manage and coordinate content calendars, and scheduling of content
• Write or tweak social copy to strike the right chord with the target audience and channel, acting as the final check before the content is published
• Actively monitor social conversations to identify new opportunities for Lyft to participate in trending topics and cultural moments, working closely with our creative team (or agency) to execute quick turn ideas
• Partner closely with our Influencer Marketing lead to coordinate influencer content, ensuring Lyft is represented in creator content, and inform opportunities to leverage influencer content on Lyft's channels when appropriate
• Collaborate with our Paid Media lead to manage social media paid media opportunities with boostable moments for organic content
• Work with PR, Customer Care, Brand Marketing, Creative, and other key teams to develop listening reports, and inform engagement/content tactics that align with communications and brand marketing efforts
• Be responsible for pulling social media data, and contribute to monthly/quarterly reports that help us scale and optimize channels
Experience:
• 4+ years experience managing a brand's social media presence with demonstrated ability in community engagement, content creation, influencer coordination, and (ideally) some exposure to paid media (i.e., boosting)
• BA in creative writing or marketing, or equivalent experience
• Excellent, social-savvy copywriting skills and sharp editorial judgment, and quick turn creative sensibilities
• In-depth knowledge of online communities and platforms and comfort navigating and creating for them
• Experience translating insights, ideas, and data into content for social media channels
• Experience with social media publishing and listening tools (Netbase, Sprinklr, Khoros, Sproutsocial, etc.)
• Agency experience preferred
