Job Summary

Hobsons is seeking a Sr. Manager, Social Media to create a strong digital community. This role is responsible for developing and implementing a social media strategy across multiple channels and integrated within the overall communications and marketing strategy. This role assumes lead responsibility for daily monitoring and updating of effective, meaningful, timely, and relevant content on Hobsons’ social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, etc. He/she will work with the Integrated Marketing teams to promote all marketing initiatives and thought leadership via social media. The Manager/Sr. Manager, Social Media will report to the VP of Marketing Services.

This position will be based in: Arlington, VA

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop social media and communication strategy across all 3 product lines
  • Monitor daily social media conversations (i.e., moderate comments, respond to direct messages, respond to comments), pull social listening data
  • Compile insights into actionable next steps to help manage Hobsons’ brand
  • Provide positive engagement and storytelling to our audiences within social media channels to grow and retain a strong following
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing and creative teams to create required assets for all communications, marketing, and channel specific campaigns and optimize them for sharing and impact
  • Manage influencer search, vetting, contract negotiation, campaign implementation and tracking for supported businesses
  • Measure and analyze impact of social media initiatives on various KPIs, including channel growth, conversions and impressions
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing and Integrated Marketing team members to analyze performance metrics and adapt strategy as needed
  • Source, write and edit content for use in blogs, client stories, case studies, press releases, etc.
  • Monitor and communicate where appropriate via online user communities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in multimedia communications, public relations, marketing, education, or related field
  • 4-5 years of professional experience in managing social media accounts for a large brand or agency, including creating editorial content
  • Proven history developing and managing strategies and campaigns to grow social media audiences and ultimately drive sales for the business
  • A detailed understanding of social media tools, analytics and technology as well as all native platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn)
  • Experience working in a cross-matrixed team structure
  • A deep understanding of social voice, tone, style and creative is required
  • Experience in the education marketplace a plus
