Alteryx is seeking a strategic, creative and self-motivated Manager, Social Media to lead our social media team and drive our global social media program. This role will drive the strategy and management of our corporate social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), priority executive channels and our social media advocacy platform and programs. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader and has expertise in digital media, influencer relations and brand awareness with a successful track record of executing programs for technology companies. The social media leader must be an excellent writer with proven ability to translate corporate messaging into impactful, social-optimized content and campaigns.

This role is responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders across the business, developing social strategies for priority events, proving business impact via data-driven reporting and creating a flywheel of advocates (e.g., associates, press, analysts, influencers). The candidate demonstrates an understanding of data analytics technology to effectively communicate with our broad and technically diverse follower base. The Manager, Social Media will collaborate with executives, agency partners and the corporate marketing team to increase social engagement, build organic social audiences and amplify the company's brand through strategic external communications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy that supports global business and communications objectives and drives awareness of Alteryx.
  • Leadership of our internal social media team and agency partners to drive social media outcomes, including follower growth, engagement and share of voice.
  • Implement social-first programs (e.g., Twitter Chats, LinkedIn Live) and robust activations for priority events (e.g., Analyticon).
  • Proactive and detailed content curation, including editorial calendar management, copy writing, creative development and alignment with priority campaigns and announcements.
  • Relentless focus on brand and messaging consistency; responsible for superior quality assurance and standards across corporate channels.
  • Global monitoring of social conversations concerning Alteryx and its affiliates, including appropriate escalation and customer service.
  • Work cross-functionally with executives, senior leadership and peers to meet priority social objectives and audiences, including customers, prospects, candidates, influencers, among others.
  • Lead the shaping, development and execution of social media best practices across the company, including the administration of training.
  • Prioritize and manage incoming requests for information, social amplification and cross-functional program support.
  • Research current benchmark trends and audience preferences, including analysis of owned account data.
  • Manage unexpected communication challenges with high judgment and professionalism.


Qualifications

  • 6+ years in social media, digital media and/or external communications in the software industry, preferably for enterprise technology brands.
  • Experience managing individual contributors, including development, training and motivation.
  • Experience working with global brand, communications, public relations, analyst relations and social teams; contributing to a global communications strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of key social channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instragram is required.
  • Current experience developing social media strategy and content, and managing publishing platforms (e.g., Hootsuite).
  • Experience with geotargeting, social selling and enablement, and executive communications is preferred.
  • Experience reporting to internal stakeholders on social media performance, KPIs and optimization.
  • Strong communication/presentation skills with experience presenting cohesive plans to senior management clearly and concisely.
  • Strong writing skills with deep understanding of spelling, AP Style and content structure.
  • Preferred degree in business, marketing, communications or journalism.
