THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Senior Manager, Influencer Strategy will be responsible for leading and developing Ulta Beauty’s Influencer strategy and building the team. This individual will oversee, develop and guide their team in the ideation, creation, and execution of influence strategies and go-to-market programs that support the growth, awareness, and consideration of the Ulta Beauty brand.

You will be the strategic lead for the organization’s holistic planning, point of view, and partnerships with creators, experts, and influencers across the enterprise for all channels. It is a job that requires vast knowledge of the influencer landscape and the ability to manage multiple influencer marketing programs within Ulta Beauty.

The Senior Manager will lead the strategic framework development outlining all spheres of influence for Ulta Beauty and will work cross-functionally to expand the strategy to include programs including associates, experts and ambassadors.

You are a student of culture and study how beauty intersects with culture, how the creator economy is transforming modern marketing, and the ever-evolving social and digital landscape. You have deep expertise in Influencer strategy, leveraging creators to drive business, brand, and campaign success. You understand how all levers of influence marketing together complement broader marketing work and have a strong perspective on how to measure and demonstrate ROI through these activities. You are a skilled people leader who can develop and manage a talented group of direct reports and are a strong cross-functional team peer and leader.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead and develop a team of three, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive influencer strategies to capitalize on key business opportunities, enhancing brand visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Integrated Marketing, Media Center of Excellence, Merchandising, and Events teams to infuse influencer strategy and maximize brand moments.
  • Craft strategies that align with business objectives, delivering relevance and EMV across our key guest cohorts and categories.
  • Ensure strategic initiatives are designed to resonate with our target audiences and reinforce our brand's position in the market.
  • Proactively communicate influencer marketing expertise with the broader organization through education and insights.

Creator Network Expansion:

  • Strategically expand our creator network to include diverse programs such as the Ulta Beauty Collective and UB Creates, as well as other specialized creator initiatives.
  • Collaborate with our Pro and Design teams to enhance internal talent activations, ensuring alignment with influencer strategies to drive brand impact and engagement.
  • Identify and onboard high-impact creators to amplify our brand’s reach and influence.
  • Develop and execute an influencer mailer strategy to boost brand awareness and drive substantial EMV for Ulta Beauty.

Talent Relations:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with creators and influencers to grow our program and enhance brand awareness for the Ulta Beauty brand.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and engage with influencers who align with our brand values and objectives.
  • Foster and develop strong relationships with influencer talent agencies and agents, creating new and unique opportunities for partnerships in innovative capacities
  • Act as a liaison between influencers and the brand, ensuring clear communication and alignment on campaign objectives and deliverables.
  • Nurture long-term partnerships with key influencers, driving ongoing engagement and advocacy for the Ulta Beauty brand.

Event Strategy and Execution:

  • Oversee the strategic planning and execution of two annual creator trips, ensuring these events strengthen key brand relationships and drive substantial EMV.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate these events seamlessly into broader brand strategies.

Budget Management:

  • Manage multi-million dollar budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact and ROI.
  • Negotiate talent and agency fees to optimize expenditures while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Monitor budget performance and make data-driven decisions to adjust strategies and allocations as needed.

Agency Management:

  • Manage our agency of record, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and maximizing the effectiveness of our campaigns.
  • Evaluate agency performance regularly, driving continuous improvement and innovation in our marketing efforts.

Risk & Issue Management:

  • Collaborate with legal to ensure FTC compliance for all paid influencer and creator partnerships, developing auditing guidelines for regular content reviews; Manage all yearly contract reviews with legal to ensure compliance is most current based on the evolution of content spaces
  • Partner with the Rapid Response team on any creator or influencer-related issues, providing counsel and recommendations to mitigate any risk with third-party partners
  • Relevant Experience: 10+ years experience in social, influencer marketing and/or communications in beauty, fashion and/or lifestyle industry; Experience building, managing and mentoring a dynamic team of creatively-minded influence marketers
  • Consumer-centric thinker: Strong understanding of consumer codes within social platforms, current events and subculture trends.

  • Integrated communicator: Clear, concise and well-organized communications across a variety of platforms and channels with superior executional delivery. You will need to communicate with internal teams, external agencies, creators and their agents with a clear plan and directive
  • People person: Identify and partner with various external agencies, vendors, creatives, creators and talent agents. Candidate will get extensive experience in working with external parties, as they will need to develop and maintain relationships with KOLs and their agents, as well as comms and creative agencies.

  • Crisis & Issue Management: Crisis & Issues Management/Prevention. Candidate will work closely with Communications function to mitigate risks associated with creator partnerships.




The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $150,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
