More About The Role
Burson is looking for a Vice President, Strategy to join our team. This person will be highly collaborative, working effectively and efficiently with all functions within the agency and with our clients. The VP will be a highly engaged advisor and influencer across industry sectors, with extensive experience in insights methodology, blending trends and culture into meaningful PR strategies.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Leadership of integrated teams to create and implement flawless execution plans informed by strategic vision.
- Responsible for all strategic planning for a limited number of clients. Managing account engagements independently, with minimal guidance.
- Leads the strategic process, from start to finish.
- Leads engagement with confidence and commitment to high quality, data-driven strategic brand recommendations, tactical plans and programs.
- Focuses on the strategic vision driving the detailed execution and performance evaluation.
- Ensures that plans are strategically sound, and accurately address interesting insights and opportunities informed by research/ analytics findings.
- Mentors junior Strategy team staff, with some managerial/supervisory responsibility guiding planning resources, including the assignment of strategic planning staff.
- Responsible for identifying opportunities to expand existing client engagements and net new business opportunities in partnership with integrated teams.
- Contributes to sharing best practice, case studies and thought leadership internally and externally at Burson.
- Responsible for reviewing, approving draft scopes, allocations and comparison against actuals.
EXPERIENCE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO SUCCESS:
- Approximately 12 years of experience specifically in a Strategic position with at least 6 years of that experience in an agency setting.
- Research and strategy tool capabilities such as Global Web Index, Brandwatch, Morning Consult, Mintel.
- Qualitative and Quantitative research capabilities including conducting interviews, survey design and focus groups.
- Must be socially curious and culturally aware of new and existing trends.
- Experience using AI as a strategic resource and be aware of the opportunities it can create.
- Demonstrated ability to lead clients independently.
- Strong team management and mentorship of junior staff.
