About the role
Shopify Spaces is where our brand and community come to life in person. We’re looking for a Community Experience Producer to lead end-to-end production for Shopify’s highest-profile events—flagship activations, pop-ups, and community experiences that bring commerce to life.
This is a hands-on production role for someone who thrives in the details, moves quickly, and upholds an exceptionally high quality bar. You’ll be trusted to produce complex, multi-stakeholder events that showcase Shopify’s brand and tools in action, collaborating with our Icons, Brand, and Creative teams to make each moment seamless and unforgettable.
This is not a facilities or systems role. It’s a pure production seat—owning timelines, vendors, and executional excellence from concept to tear-down.
What you’ll do
- Production Excellence: Lead end-to-end production for Shopify events of all sizes—from 20-person merchant dinners to 4,000-person pop-ups—working with fabricators, agencies, vendors, and internal teams to deliver on time, on budget, and above Shopify standards.
- Produce high-visibility experiences with Shopify’s partnerships team, ensuring flawless delivery, brand integrity, and strong stakeholder alignment.
- Partner with brand, creator, and influencer teams to shape cohesive, on-brand experiences; translate creative concepts into executable production plans.
- Bring Shopify’s retail technology to life through real-world integrations of Shopify POS, demonstrating the power of Shopify in practice.
- Scope, negotiate, and manage vendors and fabricators; maintain clear budgets and production schedules that meet Shopify’s operational standards.
- Be the lead producer on the ground—leading load-ins, managing crews, directing run-of-show, and ensuring guest and talent experiences are seamless.
- Capture learnings after each event and collaborate with the Head of Spaces to evolve production systems, templates, and quality standards.
- Use AI workflows to streamline communication, approvals, and reporting—helping the team work smarter and faster.
What you’ll bring
- 6–8 years of event production, experiential marketing, or brand experience management, ideally in a hybrid of agency + in-house settings.
- Proven ability to produce high-stakes, multi-stakeholder events involving VIP executives and talent.
- Exceptional communication and project management skills—you can balance multiple projects at a time in collaboration with teams across Shopify
- Strong vendor network and management experience. You are able to communicate scope and negotiate details to ensure delivery is the highest standard.
- Comfort leading projects - you’ve managed partners, other producers, freelancers, and/or agencies.
- Hospitality mindset: you anticipate needs, stay calm under pressure, and create environments where merchants feel cared for.
- Fluency with internal tooling and an openness to learning/using AI-driven workflows to increase speed and efficiency.
Why this role matters
Shopify Spaces isn’t just a venue. Community is not tied to a lease. Community is about people and presence — not place. We just so happen to have a centrally located gathering spot, flexible venue, and are a SaaS company with soul. We purposely do things no other tech company could or would. And that extends to owning this space as an ongoing presence, not a place for event-after-event-after-event. It’s a community engine. This role ensures our flagship experiences deliver on Shopify’s promise: to make commerce better for everyone. By owning the details, elevating the environment, and delivering seamless events, you’ll help Shopify earn lasting trust and loyalty with merchants, partners, and our broader community.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The estimated compensation range for this role is $67,400 to $141,900 which includes salary and equity. Pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Depending on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, 401K plan, and other benefits.
About Shopify
Opportunity is not evenly distributed. Shopify puts independence within reach for anyone with a dream to start a business. We propel entrepreneurs and enterprises to scale the heights of their potential. Since 2006, we’ve grown to over 8,300 employees and generated over $1 trillion in sales for millions of merchants in 175 countries.
This is life-defining work that directly impacts people’s lives as much as it transforms your own. This is putting the power of the few in the hands of the many, is a future with more voices rather than fewer, and is creating more choices instead of an elite option.
About you
Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.
Before you apply, consider if you can:
- Care deeply about what you do and about making commerce better for everyone
- Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth
- Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter)
- Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change
- Bring critical thought and opinion
- Use AI tools reflexively as part of your fundamental workflow
- Embrace differences and disagreement to get shit done and move forward
- Work digital-first for your daily work
