Located in Little Tokyo, the historic heart of the Japanese American community, JACCC was founded in 1972 as the dream of visionary Issei and Nisei (first- and second-generation) Japanese Americans to create a permanent center where arts and culture come alive and flourish.
JACCC’s pursuit of artistic excellence is driven by our commitment to preserve and showcase traditional Japanese arts and to contemporize them as an expression of our heritage within the diversity of cultures found throughout Los Angeles County. Our in-person and virtual exhibitions, performances, programs, and festivals showcase Japanese art forms such as flower arranging, bonsai, tea ceremony, calligraphy, and cuisine, ensuring their vitality for future generations.
Overview
The Content Creator will play a key role in supporting JACCC’s Marketing team by developing dynamic and engaging digital content that elevates our brand and connects with our audiences. This part-time contracting role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content strategy, and creative storytelling within a fast-paced arts and culture organization.
Ideal candidates will be passionate about social media, visual communication, and community-centered storytelling, with an interest in the Japanese/Japanese American/Asian Pacific American arts landscape. Video editing experience is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and publish high-quality content for social media, websites, newsletters, and other digital platforms.
- Support planning and execution of digital campaigns, influencer collaborations, and promotional initiatives.
- Monitor audience engagement and provide insights to help guide strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and external partners to ensure cohesive branding, messaging, and visual identity.
- Conduct research on industry trends, emerging platforms, and competitive activity to strengthen JACCC’s digital presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in content creation, social media management, or digital brand marketing.
- Proficiency with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
- Basic familiarity with design and editing tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and creative thinking.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain strong organizational skills.
