Our founder, Katrina Markoff, is a pioneer of the exotic chocolate movement. Katrina seeks to harness the power of storytelling through the medium of chocolate to open minds, spirits, and palates.
To that end, Vosges Haut-Chocolat produces premium chocolate bars, unique, high-quality chocolate confections, and luxury chocolate gifts in our production plant located in the Roscoe Village neighborhood in Chicago. The team is devoted to pushing the leading edge of chocolate innovation with an eye toward the adventurous.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Vosges is looking for a social-savvy content and community manager who excels at shaping content and stories for distribution across all digital platforms. The Content and Community Manager will play a key role in the creation of compelling content, smart distribution ideas, community management, and influencer engagement. Alongside the Digital Marketing Manager, he/she/they will execute tactical plans to prospect, convert and retain guests with innovative and unique strategies that will catapult the brand’s ecommerce and D2C business.
This role will work closely with the Marketing, Creative and Ecommerce teams to support the brand’s D2C growth and work alongside our Copywriter as well as our Founder to generate fresh content published across multiple channels, including Instagram, Facebook, SMS, Vimeo, Email and the website. The Content and Community Manager reports to the Digital Marketing Manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and execute a daily social distribution plan along with a content plan for each channel
- Build brands’ social presence across key platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Create and manage impactful content for brands’ key social platforms and website (e.g. video content, blog content, social posts)
- Gain a deep knowledge and passion for the ever-changing social media and digital landscape. Keeping finger on the pulse of social trends, new platform features and best practices, and emerging technologies to provide insights with actionable next steps on an ongoing basis
- Develop understanding of brand voice and visual aesthetic through collaboration with creative team to guide monthly content creation sessions for social media and digital marketing assets
- Transform long-form content into snackable, social-friendly pieces
- Create compelling IG stories and Behind the Scenes, “off-the-cuff” content with iPhone
- Collaborate with the creative team on graphical concepts including GIFs and video content
- Engage with followers to create a community within our existing following and grow followership
- Establish relationships with relevant influencers during key experiential and content moments
- Execute social strategy in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager and digital agency while also working closely with Channel Directors to promote each business unit’s unique objectives
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager on content for various digital platforms
- Spearhead any one-off creative requests from Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Digital Director
- Create monthly analytics reports to inform strategy
- Identify high or low performing trends quickly and pivot strategy
- Respond to comments and messages on Instagram, Facebook, Attentive, and other channels
QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
- 1-3 years of previous experience managing social media & digital platforms for a consumer-focused brand(s)
- Well-versed in the principles of marketing, advertising, and social media
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, previous community management and copywriting experience preferred
- Experience writing short form marketing content
- Proficiency working with major social channels, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Vimeo, is a requirement.
- Knowledgeable about social media metrics, monitoring and measurement tools
- Collaborative working style as this role interfaces cross functionally between multiple departments
- A creative eye and basic design editing skills a MAJOR plus (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
- Outstanding time and task management capability
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong sense of urgency and solution-oriented approach
