Opportunity at a Glance

We’re looking for a talented social media and content specialist to develop our social media strategy and manage the day-to-day community engagement within our social media channels. This role will be responsible for creating engaging content for our audiences, which may include blog posts, social media posts, videos, emails, infographics, ebooks and web content, to attract and encourage conversation about our brand and products.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, have a passion for online community building, and have a strong background in writing and using social media in a professional role. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager of Brand, Content and Creative, the Social Media and Content Specialist will play a critical role in the execution of our overall content strategy and will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of our social media strategy specifically.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in community conversation as the official voice of Becker Professional Education in social media
  • Develop social posts for editorial calendar in coordination with the marketing team
  • Create weekly and monthly reports to provide social and content insights to the broader marketing and management teams
  • Use social analytics and insights to grow engagement and inform content opportunities Collaborate with our Content Strategist and SEO team to execute best-in-class content strategy inclusive of social media and The Plus Side blog
  • Monitor conversations about our brand using Hootsuite and respond where appropriate. Route issues to the appropriate teams and ensure resolution
  • Identify opportunities to leverage social media in new ways and continue to grow engagement with our online communities
  • Manage paid fan acquisition and content promotion campaigns for social media channels
  • Support the management of our influencer program
  • Ensure the consistency and integrity of our brand voice
  • Keep abreast of social media trends and movements to maintain a relevant brand social presence and identify opportunities to expand our reach
  • Source and maintain a library of user-generated content and customer testimonials
  • Work with the Customer Support team to assist purchases, resolve student technical issues and escalate customer inquiries
  • Possess the ability to cover timely social media events and deliver time-sensitive social media posts with short turnaround times
  • Draft and/or edit communications or complete assigned projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field
  • 2-4 years of related work experience
  • Availability to monitor social media channels daily, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Experience managing a social content calendar, paid social advertising campaigns and social activity monitoring
  • Experience analyzing and summarizing data to identify trends and make recommendations
  • Strong writing skills with experience creating highly engaging blog and social media posts
  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills
  • Passion for today's social networking technologies, including creating and consuming new content types such as graphics, blog posts and videos, and distributing these assets to our social community
  • A self-starter with the willingness, and desire, to "roll up your sleeves" and get the job done
  • Experience using social media monitoring tools, such as Sprinklr or Hootsuite
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work cross-functionally and in teams
  • Preference for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Commitment to providing a high level of customer service
