Across Asia, steamed bao buns are loved for their soft, fluffy dough and fillings ranging from savory to sweet. In the West, pizza is loved for its cheesy, gooey, tomatoey goodness. So, it was only natural we brought them together to create the perfect East-West fusion snack served piping hot. From Classic Margherita to BBQ Chicken and beyond...Pizza tastes better in a Baozza! Ready in only 60 seconds!
Founded in 2016, Baozza is a growing frozen foods brand with venture capital backing (including from Mark Cuban). With roots and a growing operation in Asia, we are taking on the US market where we aim to put bao on the map by providing an experience that is superior to products like Hot Pockets in terms of ingredient quality, nutrition, convenience, and deliciousness!
THE ROLE
As we prepare to launch in February, we are building an organization that can help us scale nationwide to thousands of grocery & convenience stores, e-commerce platforms, and a range of additional sales channels. We need someone who can manage our overall marketing and brand- building effort – this includes: Creative content development, digital ad campaigns, partnerships with retailers/online platforms, influencer management, media kit development/PR, and anything related to the point of sale/shopper marketing. For this, we seek an unapologetic generalist who is scrappy, creative, and willing to learn new skills and new ways to drive the brand forward. It may sound like a lot, but of course it’s a marathon and not a sprint – we are building a brand that will be around for many decades to come. There is no better opportunity to take a very nascent brand and make it your baby!
This is a full-time job (W2), with potential to start part-time. We offer flexible working hours, work from home, and optional WeWork membership post-COVID. Preferred location is Southern California/Greater LA area, but not mandatory.
IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS
- Impeccable written communication skills and attention to detail
- Great attitude, sense of humor, love of food, and eagerness to represent the brand well
- Thorough knowledge of all major social and advertising platforms (IG, FB, Twitter,
- TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Ads)
- A passion for creative hacks; ways to buck trends and take advantage of resources
- An ability to handle a reasonable amount of content creation, including all written copy
- and some graphic design and/or photography + video – we can’t outsource everything
- Experience in marketing for at least one consumer packaged foods brand
- Fluency with proposals, sales materials, and brand asset tool kits
- Great taste, great ideas, and an ability to see them through to timely execution
- A fully functioning Mac or PC, and ability to work remotely
