Director of Global Marketing & Communications

Since 2008, Apex Social Group (Apex) has brought together qualified German care professionals with education, therapy, and nursing degrees with American and Australian families who have infants, multiples, or children with special needs. Beginning in 2020, Apex began the recruitment and placement of American care professionals, as well.
The Apex Social Group is made up of several companies, which include: Apex PROaupair, an international au pair agency designated by the US Department of State placing professional au pairs in the United States & Australia; Apex PROcare, a boutique domestic in-home childcare agency dedicated to matching American families with experienced American professional caregivers; Apex Social Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit promoting education, travel and cultural exchange for German and American care professionals; and Apex Professional Exchange, which places care professionals in Australia.
The Role:
The Director of Global Marketing role is an incredible opportunity to help build Apex’s global family of brands and solidify it into the premier caregiver organization. The role is responsible for all Apex company’s marketing strategies, branding and positioning, development of worldwide creative materials, partner and agency relationships, and the execution of marketing plans. A key responsibility of the role is driving the care professional and host family recruitment marketing efforts. This executive is an experienced strategist, yet comfortable executing at all levels. S/he is a jack of all trades and values a role that leverages both smarts and creativity. The Director of Global Marketing must be a strong leader, capable of inspiring and empowering subordinates while being a supportive colleague to other Apex employees. The role is remote and reports to the SVP, Global Marketing.
Responsibilities Include:
- Partner with business leaders to understand their strategic objectives and create marketing and communications plans that align with and help deliver on these objectives
- Develop initiatives designed to increase recruitment of German and American care professionals, along with American and Australian host families
- Evaluate current opportunities to engage “multipliers”, including schools, alumni, professional training networks and other referral sources
- Evaluate ROI of marketing efforts
- Manage online marketing and social media channels
- Be guardian of the different Apex brands; maintaining brand guide and ensuring all materials are on brand
- Identify and drive powerful content opportunities, including but not limited to the creation of video content, blogs, webinars, etc.
- Identify local and national press opportunities, including digital, print, professional associations and influencer groups
- Identify and execute digital and non-digital advertising opportunities, including PPC and/or Google AdWord campaigns
- Identify and submit Apex and/or Apex executives for awards and speaking engagements
- Identify and secure brand partnerships
- Oversee internal and external communications
- Oversee marketing team and vendors/agencies on all execution
- Support efforts including the Annual Surf Outing, remote & in-person staff events, recruitment events, etc.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in spoken and written German & English required
- 8+ years of relevant marketing and communications experience, ideally B2B and DTC
- Strong writer a plus
- Strong ability to manages multiple demanding tasks while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Quickly grasps new concepts and is agile in working across diverse lines of business in a fast-paced environment
- Exhibits a proactive and collaborative approach to identifying, creating and responding to opportunities
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, and builds relationships and trust at all levels of the organization and externally
- Service business experience a plus
- Self-starter that is comfortable - and values - working in a remote environment
- Excellent verbal and writing/editing skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
