Edelman is looking for a Junior Community Manager to join the Seattle office as a core member of the Digital Team. This person will be responsible for supporting digital and social media communications programs for a client as part of a larger integrated team We're looking for a social-first individual who has a mix of experience that includes some or all of the following: writing proficiency, content strategy, digital/social content development and distribution, journalism, and marketing/PR. You should enjoy researching, story-mining, analyzing information, problem-solving and possess the ability to communicate your ideas both written and orally. The candidate must be a critical-thinker, creative to the core, and possess strong presentation, copywriting and time-management skills. The Junior Community Manager must understand the cadence of how an online community ebbs and flows, on its website and across social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. They must be personable, engaging and professional. They must be a strong writer, able to create compelling content, but also be able to spot stories that the audience would find interesting. They must also be able to foster relationships within the organization in order to surface the stories, priorities and information that will serve their communities and clients well. To that end, the Junior Community Manager should have a good understanding and interest in the consumer-tech space and social media.

Responsibilities

    • Research, draft and manage content for the client’s social media channels and occasionally blogs
    • Exhibit a solid understanding of key client information including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services offered, key customers and competitors in the marketplace
    • Analyze the online conversation to guide engagement strategy
    • Lead influencer engagement efforts
    • Recommend and manage social enhancements to web sites and/or applications
    • Collaborate with the analytics team to prepare and/or review activity reports and status reports for clients
    • Analyze market research including using online services
    • Plan ahead for social amplification support for key client events and milestones
    • Demonstrate solid research, writing and editing skills
    • Provide client service support: attend meetings, meet deadlines, troubleshoot problems, and proactively draft agendas/recaps
    • Participate in new business process including research, audit, proposal and pitch preparation

    • At least 6 months of agency experience working in social media, managing pages/profiles on a variety of social media platforms
    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
    • A solid grasp of the role that social and digital media plays in a client’s communication mix and the ability to educate others about it effectively
    • A solid understanding of online outreach and the ability to develop appropriate online engagement strategies
    • Proven ability to work effectively and somewhat autonomously
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
    • The drive and enthusiasm to learn new skills and topics, and the confidence to ask questions when needed
    • Previous experience with Photoshop and sourcing images for use on social is a plus
    • A passion for writing and editing content for social media is a must
