JOB SUMMARY

Off Madison Ave is a lot of fun to work with. We do amazing work together. And we do it for amazing clients. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Social Media Manager to join the team.

The Social Media Manager is an excellent writer and social media enthusiast who develops social media strategy for agency clients and then executes and reports against that strategy. Working closely with the Creative Director, PR Director and Account Teams, this individual is responsible for driving social strategy, creating innovative and engaging social content, and handling and/or providing best practice recommendations for community management based on specific client goals. The ideal candidate is highly creative, possesses a true passion for all things social media and loves digging into reporting and analytics to continually improve a brand’s social media presence.

The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for the travel and tourism industry.

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work cross-functionally with creative, PR, client services and media teams to plan and execute strategic and synergistic social media initiatives
  • Develop and manage monthly content calendars across social media channels that align with client’s brand image, voice and strategy
  • Craft quality content (copywriting) plus image selection based on approved content plan
  • Execute a timely, consistent and organized approach to clients’ social media engagement, audience listening and critical online reputation efforts
  • Make publishing cadence recommendations, manage postings and community management guidelines
  • Actively monitor and analyze social media accounts and track engagement metrics to measure success of campaigns and identify opportunities on a monthly and/or quarterly basis
  • Conduct social media listening for both research and content strategy development
  • Assist in research and strategic planning for social media and content marketing projects through audits, competitive assessments and market research
  • Ensure brand voice consistency, relevancy, and accuracy across all messaging platforms
  • Conduct content brainstorms with cross-functional teams to generate content ideas that support the social strategy and overall business initiatives
  • Assist with facilitating workshops, strategy sessions and training sessions with clients
  • Collaborate with PR to identify content opportunities (both planned and in real-time) among bloggers, influencer opportunities and media partnerships
  • Work with account managers on the creation and execution of custom creative assets, such as videos or custom graphics
  • Monitor competitor activity on an ongoing basis to provide applicable learnings that will inform social strategy
  • Monitor and share trends on social media channels; appropriately apply that knowledge to increase the effectiveness of social media efforts
  • Provide updates on social media platform functionality to the agency, its clients and industry peers
  • Manage the agency’s social media presence

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) from a four-year college or university; degree in marketing or related field is preferred; five to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of seven years previous experience in marketing, public relations, advertising or a related field
  • Solid understanding of social media universe to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok as well as tools including Later, SproutSocial, Canva and CrowdRiff
  • Working knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of AP-style writing and editing
  • Superb verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
  • Skilled in project management and is deadline-driven
  • Ability to understand clients’ business goals and able to identify ways to use skills to achieve those goals
  • Ability to work both independently managing multiple projects, as well as collaboratively working with leaders of other functions areas to achieve common goals
  • Ability to drive results in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to identify and proactively solve problems
  • Proficient in the use of a PC or Mac; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel to client sites and offsite locations as needed
