This Secureworks’ Media Relations/Influencer Relations Consultant is responsible for developing and executing the company’s engagement strategies and activities with media and journalists and cybersecurity industry influencers via direct engagements, events, technology and business associations and social media channels.

What you’ll achieve

This professional will create engagement strategies and execute PR and media relations programs that advance Secureworks’ position as a Cybersecurity thought leader and bring the company’s messages to life. Additionally, this professional will identify and engage with influential cybersecurity industry thought leaders and associations and foster relationships on behalf of Secureworks to demonstrate and build the company’s authority, credibility and thought leadership.

This includes but is not limited to identifying and engaging with the most impactful cybersecurity and business associations, think tanks and advocacy organizations and building collaborations with online influencers and

Secureworks followers as brand advocates and champions. You will work with colleagues in Corporate Communications, Executive Communications and Marketing.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Press Release writing
  • External influencer identification, engagement and relationship building
  • Establishing and maintaining professional one-on-one relationships with top influencers and content creators securing consistent messaging.
  • Monitoring issues and trends; identifying related influencers and managing influencer relationships in a mutually beneficial way.
  • Tracking and targeting industry events for alignment and engagement opportunities
  • Integrating and activating influencers in PR and Media relations campaigns

Essential Requirements

Requirements

  • Proficient, experienced AP-style writer
  • Experience creating, executing and measuring multi-faceted PR programs featuring influencers and social media activation.
  • Experience creating and executing brand-level influencer strategies offline and via online social channels
  • Strong knowledge of social media strategy and amplification to support brand reputation efforts via Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook
  • Strong social media measurement capabilities including use of tools such as Sprinklr or similar methodologies
  • Understanding of and experience establishing/building third-party credibility
  • Established relationships with technology and/or cybersecurity media
  • Established relationships with cybersecurity or technology industry and trade associations,


Desirable Requirements

  • Journalism and Media Relations skills and experience
  • Influencer Relations skills
  • Advanced Communication skills including strong writing and communications strategy
  • Strong Social Media skills including influencer engagement and management and content strategy.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, influence others to achieve results and to manage in a matrix environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude. Ability to work independently. Results driven.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables.

Education and Experience

  • 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
  • PR and Media Relations experience is required.
  • Cybersecurity industry experience is preferred.
