Social Media & Content Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
BISSELL is seeking a Social Media and Content Manager to lead the company’s organic social media and content strategy. This individual is someone who spends their free time scrolling social channels for the latest trends, knows what makes great, thumb-stopping content and is in-the-know about the latest changes and emerging social platforms.
The Social Media and Content Manager brings passion and expertise in the area of social media and can apply this knowledge to curate, engage and grow the BISSELL brand within each key platform (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook). A focus area of the position is content development, including leading an evolving content strategy, from repurposing UGC and influencer content to identifying creator partnership opportunities and directing video and photo shoots for brand-led organic content.
This individual uses Twitter to check daily headlines, keeps tabs on influencer best practices, gets excited about the latest viral #cleantoks and has at least a couple #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt products at home. The ideal candidate is also a rescue pet parent (but not a mandatory), aligning with BISSELL Pet Foundation and its mission to end pet homelessness.
It’s preferred that this candidate also have experience with paid campaigns (e-commerce brand experience is a plus), as they will be working closely with the digital marketing team to develop a paid strategy that supports evergreen social content.
POSITION PROFILE
- Serve as the company’s social media lead, driving strategy, leading content development across platforms, utilizing multiple sources (production teams, third party creators, UGC and influencers)Ideal candidate has management experience of junior support staff

- Key client contact for the agency social media team, providing direction and leadership to execute BISSELL’s social and content strategy
- Oversee the strategy and management of influencer programs for product launches and sustaining brand awareness efforts
- Spot, plan and implement right time engagement opportunities leveraging social listening best practices
- Have a finger on the pulse of today’s ever-changing social media landscape and inform internal teams of important changes, shifts and/or opportunities
- Be a natural content creator, with a passion for storytelling and concept creation that marry the brand messages with what is culturally relevant and will engage consumers on social
- Draft monthly content calendar briefs to be delivered to the agency ahead of each month, review and provide feedback on monthly content calendars
- Oversee monthly and quarterly social media reporting and have an understanding on leveraging data to inform strategies and content
- Collaborate with public relations lead and copywriter on editorial calendar planning for integration across communications channels
- Implement content sharing process with international counterparts, collaborate with counterparts on key initiatives
- Work with agency team and Consumer Care on community management

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Degree minimum: Bachelor’s Degree
- Specific concentration: PR, communications, advertising, marketing or related field
- Experience level: 6+ years of experience in social media or related field
