Social Media Manager
Wonderhunt exists to make the deep and hidden things of God accessible to anyone who's curious — through story, and always for free. We make short films and content rooted in the themes of the gospel: stories that reveal God's character and resonate in real life.
We’re seeking a highly talented and skilled Social Media Manager who will help us grow and deepen our presence across social media. The ideal candidate is creative and has a strong entrepreneurial drive that moves from concept ideation to production to reality, all with a focus on conveying truth and inviting reflection about the ideas in our short films.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content Creator Lead: ideate, create and edit video, audio and content for distribution on social media to further support Wonderhunt’s film resources and storytelling initiatives;
- Drive the strategy, production, and editing for all short-form and long-form video content for YouTube, Instagram, and Meta platforms;
- Be up to date on current social media trends, best practices, and growth strategies;
- Create content using trending and relatable formats to highlight faith-based content;
- Partner with Communications Manager and Design Lead to develop forward facing content for Wonderhunt across all social channels that aligns to brand voice and brand style guidelines;
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team and own the social media content calendar, including the strategy, planning, scheduling, and posting of all collaborations, community content creation, distribution, and engagement initiatives;
- Lead influencer outreach initiatives to establish influencer relationships, partnerships and campaigns;
- Work with Communications Manager & Design Lead to create outreach materials for influencer initiatives;
- Act as a key on-screen voice and face of Wonderhunt, appearing in social videos and as needed at in-person events;
- Attend 8+ film shoots (annually) and gather behind the scenes content; and manage all equipment accordingly;
- Engage authentically with our online community by responding to DMs, moderating comments, and showing up in conversations with warmth and discernment in a way that represents Jesus;
- Act as a leader or expert in spiritual conversations and topics with a diverse audience including pastors, church leaders, community members, and people along a wide spectrum of faith engagement;
- Manage all current and future social platforms including but not exclusive to posting content, curating feeds and playlists, responding to comments, setting up and maintaining engagement automations, and regular reporting on performance. Social platforms currently include Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube;
- Work with the Marketing Team to run and manage paid social media ads.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven personal and/or branded social media account experience with quality content;
- Proficient in capturing video content (e.g., camera setup, lighting, audio, etc.) and video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Capcut, etc.);
- Familiar with graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, etc.);
- Familiar with in-app animation features (Instagram, Capcut, Canva);
- Effective at multitasking and prioritizing multiple projects in order to meet deadlines and campaign schedules; an ability to prioritize, manage, and multitask simultaneous projects, including those involving outside influencers or collaborators;
- Skilled at managing projects and workflows via project management tools like Hive, Monday, Asana, etc.;
- Ability to independently plan workflow and project timelines;
- Routinely transport and move production equipment weighing up to 50 pounds;
- Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration skills;
- Willingness to travel every 6-8 weeks as needed for film shoots, team meetings, etc.
PREFERRED
- Experience as a communicator of faith-based content for individuals and/or churches;
- Familiar with After Effects and motion graphics;
- Familiar with setting up, managing and growing podcast channel;
- Experience with social media advertising.

- Ability to capture high-quality photography on set at film shoots

The Social Media Manager will report to the Marketing Director and has the ability to work in office at our Chicago suburb location, or remotely with regular visits to the office. The role includes a competitive salary, generous benefits, and is full-time salaried (exempt).
