Job Description

As a Senior Account Supervisor/VP role, you are a team lead on running critical pieces of the business, managing account teams, and being a client counselor. You possess expert client relations and counseling skills, as well as both people and agency management skills. You are media savvy and have the ability to provide strategic thought leadership to an account or multiple accounts. You are expected to sell in new projects and be fully capable to lead presentations in addition to being a key member of new business pitches. Dependent on years of experience, you may also be responsible for identifying new business leads and running a section of the practice.

The SAS/VP level is drafting and creating programs and has a large hand in client budgeting. At this level, you are a key participant in hiring decisions and have a strong grasp of team and billable work as it relates to staff and client budgeting. You also are mentoring and developing your team.

In sum, the SAS/VP is expected to be tenacious in motivating teams, inspiring clients as you go above-and-beyond to understand their business and managing up in an effective manager to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leader in account management and team performance
  • Responsible for team deliverables and client communication
  • Responsible for and have a strong grasp on account profitability
  • Create, review, and track budgeting
  • Oversee and approve budgets, reviewing client invoices and resource allocation
  • Set performance standards for account teams + responsible for the professional development of individuals on the practice team
  • Contribute to/lead Leads staffing, staff development, and revenue for the team
    • Collaborate with peers to determine staff and resource allocation against accounts
  • Participate in staffing decisions (candidate interviews and hiring)
  • Supervise and direct account teams on communicating client deliverables
    • Ensures team is delivering on agreed-to strategies
  • Responsible for team updates on yearly plans and assignments
    • Identify and secure resources needed for clients, campaigns, and staff
  • Provide strong editorial support and strategic counsel to teams + clients
  • A problem solver + mentor for the team, providing feedback and guidance
  • A strategic voice for the client
    • Leads brainstorming
    • Provides high-level client counsel on program, setting strategies, manages client expectation
    • Sell in and negotiate client programs and budgets
  • Guide significant media relations activities, jumping in from a strategic perspective
  • Maintain strong media + influencer connections within your practice
  • Create programmatic synergies between press, influencer + social efforts on behalf of clients
  • Lead client calls and meetings
  • Collaborate on budgeting programs
  • Actively participate in new business activities
  • Oversee special events + experiential activations (virtual and in-person)
  • Identifies and assess new business leads, managing the creative and programming teams

Requirements

  • 6+ Years of experience on an Account and ideally on the agency side in some capacity
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience managing a team of 3-4 direct reports
  • Expert-level client relations skills
  • Have a strong sense of gravitas and the ability to command a room
  • The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in consumer marketing specifically: traditional public relations, large integrated programming, social strategy, and influencer marketing.
  • Experience with Wine and Spirits is an added bonus but not a must!
  • Deep client networks that span multiple verticals, but exposure to Consumer, Travel, & Retail brands is a plus
