HG Overview

Hamster Garage is a partnership management agency based out of Chicago. We manage the partnerships and affiliates channel for large brands. This includes affiliate marketing, but also brand partnerships, podcasts, influencer marketing, and so on. We work with leading brands like Airbnb, Canva, Turo, etc., and are in a high growth phase. HG is a young (less than 2 years old), lean, and growth minded agency that’s working with innovative brands to meet their acquisition needs. We’re growing fast and looking to add team members to grow with the agency, and want you to help us leave our mark on the industry!

Role Overview

Due to growth, we are looking to hire a Director of Affiliates to join the HG team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of work experience, be a self-starter who is willing to teach, is passionate about client management, is able to find creative solutions to client needs, and can work well in a team environment. The candidate should also have experience working with Fortune 500 brands in their previous positions. This role is based in our Chicago office and is currently 75% remote, intending to eventually be 100% onsite at our West Loop Chicago office. However, we’re open to candidates outside of Chicago working on a remote basis. This role will assist to drive meaningful growth through traditional and unique opportunities for dynamic and global brands.

The Director role will be part of management and contribute to leadership on a Global client for a leading tech unicorn. You will also partner closely with leadership on business development. This is an exciting and critical role in building and scaling user acquisition with a top tier agency in the early growth stage. The Director will have exposure to many different aspects of Partnership Marketing and overall company building in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment while also reporting directly to the CEO.

What We’re Looking For

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering results for the client by bringing creative and well thought out ideas, effectively managing the team’s deliverable on key client objectives, and monitoring the performance of those objectives
  • Assist with business development efforts and go-to-market to help HG grow and sell work
  • Lead strategic partner recruitment
  • Effectively communicate performance and strategic direction for the program to the client and HG team members
  • Ensure executional excellence across the team
  • Be prepared to present, justify and defend all recommendations to the client
  • Provide recommendations for scale and/or efficiency within campaigns
  • Develop, grow and maintain strong strategic relationships with existing partners in the client’s program
  • Formulate and test new tactics, which can involve testing performance outside of traditional affiliates
  • Teach and mentor younger staff members across the account

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of work experience working with Fortune 500 brands within the affiliate space
  • Exceptional project management
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. There will be a great deal of coordination through email and calls, so it is imperative to represent HG in the most professional manner possible
  • Strong communication skills. The role involves interacting with various publishers and clients
  • Strong analytical skills and comprehension skills with a focus on attention to detail. We work with a lot of data and need to be able to extrapolate and summarize data to optimize and make decisions to present to our clients, so a working understanding of Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred
  • KPI driven and results-oriented
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus. There will be many instances that require presenting our work to clients, which will require creating decks as client deliverables
  • The candidate will need to be a quick learner
  • The candidate will have a good eye for design
  • Resourcefulness is vital to this position. There will be many scenarios that require the Director to be able to research solutions independently for discussion purposes with the client and HG team
  • The ideal candidate will be able to provide creative and innovative solutions to address brands’ user acquisition needs
  • Experience with third-party affiliate tracking platforms
  • Operational and process focused. As a young agency, we’re looking for someone who can help us build out processes that scale across multiple accounts
  • Team and culture focused and be able to help foster a collaborative, fun working environment
