Senior Creative Strategist – Performance Creative
Wayfair’s SRB’s are seeking a data-driven Senior Creative Strategist to lead the development of innovative, insight-led ad creative across paid social and digital channels. This is a key role at the intersection of storytelling, design, and data, focused on producing high-performing creative that drives measurable impact across the funnel on platforms like Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, and beyond.
As part of a fast-paced, cross-functional team, you’ll collaborate with performance marketers, designers, editors, and data analysts to translate business goals into compelling customer-facing creative. You will own end-to-end campaign ideation—from research and messaging strategy to creative testing and optimization—ensuring every asset we launch upholds brand integrity, follows channel best practices, and is built to convert.
This role is ideal for a creative strategist with 5+ years of experience in performance-driven environments who thrives on balancing storytelling with experimentation, and can bring structure and strategic clarity to a high-volume creative pipeline.
What You'll Do
- Own the Creative Strategy for Paid Campaigns: Lead strategy for ad creative across key paid channels including Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Paid Search, and programmatic. Develop insight-driven concepts tailored to platform behavior, audience mindset, and performance goals.
- Drive End-to-End Campaign Development: Develop compelling creative concepts, messaging frameworks, and testing roadmaps grounded in insights. Collaborate with SEO and Consumer Insights teams to ensure strategies are data-informed, and partner with designers and producers to bring ideas to life—from initial edits to final delivery.
- Craft and Manage UGC Briefs: Own the creation of strategic creative briefs for user-generated content (UGC) partners, ensuring content is aligned to campaign objectives, performance goals, and channel best practices.
- Translate Insights into Impact: Analyze performance data and audience behavior to inform testing priorities and future creative iterations. Develop hypotheses, build testing matrices, and partner with performance marketers to continually optimize and unlock incremental performance gains.
- Track and Share Creative Learnings: Monitor creative performance trends and consolidate learnings to inform future strategy. Proactively share insights and recommendations with the broader creative and marketing teams to promote a culture of continuous learning and data-driven iteration.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a creative point of contact for the Marketing team, ensuring strategic alignment across creative and media plans. Present ideas and creative rationale to stakeholders with confidence and clarity.
- Support Seasonal Campaign Launches: Collaborate with the Go-To-Market (GTM) team to influence and direct seasonal campaign creative, ensuring assets are optimized for paid channels and grounded in SEO insights while identifying content gaps.
- Mentor and Inspire: Help guide designers by providing actionable feedback, moodboards, and strategic direction. Champion experimentation, iteration, and scrappy production methods to maximize learning velocity.
- Leverage & Repurpose Assets: Strategically utilize existing lifestyle, studio, 3D, and UGC video and static assets to scale output efficiently across channels while maintaining creative effectiveness.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of experience concepting, writing, and producing direct response ads in a fast-paced and high volume environment, such as a digital marketing agency or an in-house growth team, ideally in e-commerce or DTC.
- 1+ years of experience working directly with paid media (Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.) as a media buyer or equivalent role, with a clear understanding of how creative impacts performance.
- Experience with Facebook Ads Manager, creative testing tools, and performance reporting dashboards
- A proven ability to develop and scale direct response creative that drives measurable results.
- Deep understanding of platform-specific creative best practices, including Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging formats.
- Strong creative instincts with a focus on clarity, conversion, and audience empathy.
- Experience working with graphic designers, video editors, content creators, and production teams to ship high volumes of content.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies, performance metrics, and using data to guide creative iterations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects across different stakeholders and timelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to guide copywriters on scripts, headlines, and performance-oriented copy.
- Comfort working in a hybrid, collaborative environment that values speed, curiosity, and creativity.
Bonus:
- Experience with creative automation platforms or modular content systems for the consistent production of a high volume of creative assets
- Prior experience in retail, home, or lifestyle categories
- Interest and knowledge of cutting-edge technology such as AI-generated content and VO
- Familiarity with creative tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus for providing clear design feedback, but this is not a design role.
- Portfolio or examples of past campaigns, especially those tied to performance metrics, are highly encouraged.
