Are you a culture fit? Our founding team is seeking a Head of Growth and Community who can take Greenlight to the next level by leading our user acquisition, marketing, and retention operation.

The Role:

The primary objective of the Head of Growth and Community will be leading the Growth and Community Team in building and growing a predictable influencer acquisition and retention engine.

The ideal candidate will have a history of complete user acquisition ownership. At Greenlight “ownership” means setting strategy and long-term goals, launching and iterating programs “in the trenches” with direct reports, obsessing over quality and performance, and proving out immediate short term, metrics-driven viability as part of any given long-term plan.

The successful candidate has deep experience with user acquisition strategies, demand generation programming, awareness building, market positioning, and category creation. Content production experience is a plus. The successful candidate brings experience and enthusiasm to the table when it comes to proactively promoting Greenlight’s internal culture of objective measurement. This position may entail opportunities for thought leadership within the industry, in partnership with our investors and brand clients, and via our branded content.

The Head of Growth and Community reports directly to the CEO and assumes immediate management responsibility for the current Growth and Community team (2 employees), as well as an opportunity to quickly scale the team to 4-5 individuals. As Greenlight does not have a CMO at this time, the Head of Growth and Community will be the most senior marketing/growth team member within the organization. This role ties in with internal stakeholders, including the Product Team as well as company leadership and external partners.

Greenlight expects the Head of Growth and Community to build a culture of ROI-based marketing and demonstrate data driven decision-making. This individual excels by relentlessly pursuing excellence, driving Growth and Community teams to exceed expectations in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate is excited to test new ideas within a framework of objective measurement.

Top Five Job Responsibilities:

•In the trenches: launch and test marketing projects and ideas personally, “today”.

• Rapid Test: test a wide variety of strategies (content marketing and inbound, digital marketing, give-aways, special events, etc) for user acquisition and retention.

• Scale: budget for spend and hires to scale successful projects in order to hit key short term and quarterly goals.

• Stakeholder & Organizational Alignment: develop and maintain strong relationships with Product and Biz Dev in service of growth and organizational goals.

• Support New Products & Initiatives: act as a key strategic stakeholder and provide go-to-market strategy and support for new initiatives across the organization.

Immediately: You rapidly develop a baseline understanding of Greenlight Media’s business, differentiated approach, marketing priorities, core unit economics, and organizational culture. Solidify positive relationships and trust with the key stakeholders; colleagues should operate with full full confidence in your ability to execute your responsibilities and hit your goals. Rapidly develop a strong understanding of our industry segment positioning versus key competitors. Post initial set of strategic priorities and key metrics in collaboration with the CEO.

• You are comfortable with the ambiguity inherent in an early-stage, high growth business - remaining true to core metrics and goals along the way.

• You have a high level of personal integrity and standards.

• You learn and adapt quickly and are able to gain and retain knowledge in new areas which are unfamiliar to you.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• 7+ years’ experience in marketing, with 5+ in an online demand generation / growth marketing role.

• Very comfortable with key digital marketing channels – SEO, SEM, paid social, retargeting, etc.

• Experience scaling user acquisition/community size for an early growth stage company.

• Demonstrated success with defining target market segments and making successful marketing investments in them.

• Owned and demonstrated success with a user acquisition funnel, including both top-of-funnel strategies (brand/awareness) and bottom-of-funnel strategies (direct demand generation). Highly comfortable with all aspects of the funnel process, including modeling, metrics, etc.

• Strong grasp of marketing data and metrics, with a laser focus on ROI.

• Comfortable and experienced speaking internally (to company, Board, etc.) and externally (conferences), with the desire to do so.

• Experience creating and managing detailed budgets

• Superior communication and organization skills.

• Productivity: Google Docs, Slack, and task management software experience required.
