Social Media Manager

We are seeking an innovative Social Media Manager to join Young Hot & Modern's audience development team. The Social Media Manager is responsible for raising the brand’s profile and fostering a loyal following across our social media channels. The ideal candidate has content creation and management experience plus smart social strategies that complement our journalism, drives traffic and conversation. This is a remote volunteer position.

Your Responsibilities

• You will develop a monthly social content calendar
• You will produce and manage all content creation across all Young Hot & Modern's social channels
• You will increase engagement with followers, grow the number of followers and traffic from social media
• You will create and execute social and influencer marketing campaigns
• You will identify opportunities to re-promote archival stories
• You will source and manage user-generated content
• You will manage one undergraduate social media intern per semester
• You will stay up-to-date on emerging social media trends and platforms

Minimum Requirements

• You have at least 1 to 2 years of social media experience
• You have strong writing skills and attention to written and visual detail
• You’re an excellent communicator and confident speaking on camera
• You're comfortable working remotely and being self-motivated
• You're excited to volunteer for a startup company
• You have experience with customer service and community engagement
• You have knowledge of social media analytics metrics and tools
