We are seeking an Influencer and Social Media Manager to work with the Director of Influencer Social Media Strategy to actively engage consumers and influencers. You will do this within social media channels, across various client brand properties, based on an approved social engagement strategy.

This person will work out of our LA office so must be in the area and/or be willing to relocate.

This position will participate in the planning, execution and management of Duncan Channon’s social media programs, events, special projects and related activities as directed. This role requires strong relationship skills, strong collaboration skills with the ability to work independently, excellent communication skills (oral and written), and strong knowledge of influencers in the digital and social media landscape.

The Influencer and Social Media Manager must have the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a small team environment as well as work cross-functionally with other departments at Duncan Channon. Candidate must be detail-oriented with the ability to map back to the big picture, organized and precise, think creatively and quickly adapt to different kinds of clients and contexts, and be comfortable in social environments. Position requires travel as well as the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays if necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages outreach to, develops and maintains relationships with key online influencers where necessary
  • In collaboration with the Director, negotiate with and hire influencers
  • Manage estimated costs with clients, get client approval on influencer budgets, work with internal finance team to ensure influencer invoices are processed on time
  • Develop, manage and execute influencer programs according to client goals and objectives
  • Utilizes data and research to find targeted influencers to prepare for campaign launches or sustain efforts
  • Create content briefs for influencers that outline campaign objectives and key messaging
  • Monitor influencer/social content to optimize their performance and refine content strategy
  • Coordinates social influencer event logistics including timelines, critical paths, contact sheets and production binders
  • Implements tracking solutions to measure content performance and conversation around client initiatives and programs, define for the client which metrics indicate success and create custom reports regularly
  • Works collaboratively with Director of Influencer and Social Media Strategy to ensure that projects are completed on time and within the allotted budget
  • Stays abreast of community trends, dos and don'ts—knows what's appropriate and not appropriate, for brands to do in each of the various social media platforms
  • Schedules conference calls and meetings
  • Builds decks and participates in presentations (internal and external)
  • Additional administrative duties as directed and on an as-needed basis

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of related experience in a social media function at a competitive marketing agency or in-house at a brand managing more than one sub-brand
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Innate curiosity, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit with an eagerness to learn
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and flexibility to shift projects as priorities change
  • Proven success managing influencer campaigns
  • Experience managing internal and external relationships and expectations
  • Demonstrated understanding of paid social media campaigns using platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter native tools, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of the social media universe including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, etc., i.e. we’re looking for a social media enthusiast with familiarity with niche and emerging social platforms like Triller, ClubHouse, etc.
  • Working knowledge of influencer management and social listening tools like NetBase, Tagger, RivalIQ or similar tools
  • Interest and experience working with a variety of influencers across content categories

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building strategies and social media campaigns for Gen Z audiences
