Sr. Public Relations Manager

At Omnicell, we’re transforming healthcare through cloud-based solutions and technology-enabled services that support the vision of zero-error medication management. And we are looking for the right person to help us educate the media and the industry about how connected technology and intelligence are helping to solve for the most pressing challenges in healthcare.

In your role as Senior Public Relations Manager, you will be collaborating closely with internal stakeholders at multiple levels and external customer advocates and industry thought leaders to identify opportunities, tactics, and channels to translate Omnicell’s vision into impactful, engaging, and innovative go-to-market plans.

You must be able to find, develop and translate our value into newsworthy communications and help the company be the leading voice for technology-driven medication management in our competitive market.

Areas of responsibility and focus for this role include:

  • PR/media relations
  • Category creation
  • Influencer marketing

Self-starter, proactive, detail-oriented. We are a lean team, so you must be able to routinely prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

An effective communicator. You must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to clearly articulate corporate vision and story to support brand awareness and category creation to C Suite stakeholders. Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skills are a must.

This position’s responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement effective and creative PR strategy to support category creation and visibility for Omnicell’s portfolio of cloud-based, technology-enabled solutions
  • Manage media relations function, including drafting and managing approval and distribution of press releases and facilitating media spokesperson interviews.
  • Identify and secure awards and recognition to highlight Omnicell’s brand and promote expanded business opportunities.
  • Identify byline article and speaker opportunities in partnership with internal experts to promote category and portfolio
  • Develop business-to-business content through independent research, writing, and editing.
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Understand market trends, portfolio innovation, and pending new business wins to identify media opportunities
  • Partner with PR agency vendors to execute on media opportunities, investor relations activities, and thought-leadership initiatives

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Writing: experience with drafting news releases, talking points, website copy
  • Research and strategic communications development
  • Critical thinker who can effectively interact with all levels of management
  • Collaborative partner with internal and external resources, able to work-cross-functionally
  • A self-starter, able to run with projects with minimal direction.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines consistently and set expectations appropriately
  • Creative, thoughtful, and passionate about storytelling
  • Open and effective communicator who is not afraid to throw out an idea or challenge an existing one to help advance our mission
  • Curious; eager to learn and open to trying new things

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or business
  • 8+ years experience in a PR, marketing, and/or corporate communications environment
  • 3+ years in a dedicated media relations role
  • Experience with business (B2B) marketing and communications

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior experience in healthcare and technology
  • Exposure to global marketing environments
  • Experience in a publicly held company

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional availability outside of regular work hours to accommodate media needs
