Factory PR seeks a Director of VIP and Celebrity Services in the Los Angeles based office. The candidate should be culturally connected and have a genuine passion for the Entertainment and Fashion fields. This position reports to VP Fashion in New York. This candidate must be incredibly entrepreneurial, self-motivated and a creative thinker.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the public face of Factory PR on the West Coast and uphold the agency’s reputation and values
  • Manage the LA-based office and team – acting as a mentor by stimulating team members’ professional growth and creating an environment of success
  • Ensure the LA office keeps in line with all agency protocols
  • Build and execute West Coast services for the agency creating company-wide strategies for and engaging with targeted celebrities, bloggers, and influencers and growing the agency’s presence on the West Coast
  • Work in tandem/liaise with Factory’s leadership team, creating client specific VIP and influencer relations strategies and materials that work alongside the overarching PR and marketing strategies
  • Build KPIs, develop goals for team and clients, and monitor and report on progress
  • Contribute to the company’s development and profitability in the LA market through: o Organic growth/project sell-in from existing clients – actively volunteer ideas/solutions as add-on services to increase fee income

o Source and nurture new business and revenue-building opportunities

  • Create full new business responses and proposals or respond to RFIs for new business prospects
  • Act as a key player in new business pitches utilizing skills as a proficient and convincing presenter
  • Secure effective press coverage [features as well as product placement] in top national, regional, broadcast and online media outlets
  • Maintain strong relationships with key editors, stylists, producers, costume designers and influencers

  • Conceptualize and execute press events
  • Attend key industry events

  • Conduct clear and frequent communication with the team of NY-based Directors
  • Report to Company leadership on a weekly basis

REQUIREMENTS

  • Live in Los Angeles area
  • Minimum 6-8 years experience with agency a must
  • Effective leadership qualities and proactive/positive attitude with managing projects and responsibilities
  • Interest in growing the team and company by leading West Coast agency development with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of principles in VIP related PR, marketing and digital media
  • Excellent relationships with stylist and relevant contacts in entertainment, influencer, fashion, music, culture/art, tech/innovation and lifestyle industries
  • Superior knowledge of fashion/consumer media practices, as well a phenomenal track record in garnering top tier coverage in print, trade, broadcast TV and online mediums.
  • Strategic thinker who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to the team and implement strategies to bring these ideas to life
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills; attention to detail and strong organization skills
  • Highly adept at multi-tasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Candidate MUST have experience in event planning with big brands/big budgets
  • Candidate is responsible for creation, maintenance and timely distribution of editorial reports, press clippings and budgetary tracking documents
  • Experience in supervising/mentoring junior staff is required
  • Must exhibit strong writing, communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, agency principals and colleagues

  • Must have high level of interest and proficiency in New Media landscape, and experience with outlets including social patforms, communities and networks
  • Bachelors degree - ideally in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Must be proficient in Powerpoint, Photoshop, Excel, Word, and social media networks

  • Must have ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline oriented, high-energy environment with a consistent CAN DO attitude!
  • Must be self motivated, entrepreneurial, loyal and a talented communicator
