Senior Social Media Strategist
Job Description
Ferguson is currently seeking a bright and resourceful Senior Social Media Strategist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a top-rated company comprised of fun, talented individuals. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience at a large-size organization developing and executing social media content (both paid and organic), developing strategy that aligns with company and channel level KPIs, as well as full-scale social marketing campaigns. This is a full-time role.
This role will be based in the Newport News, VA area, but is open to REMOTE. If remote, we are looking for someone to work from a US-based location. Must be available between the hours of 8am – 5pm ET (1 hour lunch break within) for a 40-hour workweek basis.
Responsibilities
- Displays expert knowledge and keen understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Houzz, Pinterest, etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios as a brand / company entity.
- Participate in online conversation to build brand awareness, visibility, and loyalty, and serve as the voice for the company’s online social presence ensuring branding is consistent across social media.
- Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
- Develop relevant content topics to reach the company’s target customers on social media websites.
- Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and copy) on the company’s social media properties.
- Monitor, listen and respond to users while cultivating leads and sales.
- Make initial responses to inquiries, complaints, comments and other contacts generated through social media and coordinate escalations or further communications.
- Create, execute and optimize social media advertising campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media, content marketing, SEO and social advertising campaigns.
- Report on key performance metrics and compile reports for management showing results (ROI, ROO, ROAS).
- Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
- Monitor market trends, best practices and competitors in the social media arena and translate information into compelling, actionable and effective strategies in support of the company’s strategic plan.
- Experience with influencer marketing and able to identify and reach out to relevant talent, assisting with contracting, SOPs, and reviewing branded content.
- Report on key metrics of the holistic influencer program (to include experiential partnerships) to be reviewed by the team; including engagements, clicks, content and quality, and the number of creators we’ve partnered with.
- Manage the upkeep of micro and macro campaigns including but not limited to fostering relationships with influencers, providing tracking or affiliate links, contracts and assisting with submission of invoices for payment.
- Help research new talent to partner with and put together campaign briefs for upcoming campaigns
- Proficient experience with crisis management on social media platforms.
- Not be afraid to challenge the status quo and work to drive constant improvement in process and ability to achieve organizational goals through social media.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or equivalent combination of education or related experience
- 5+ years related digital or communications experience
- In depth understanding of web technology and strategy, including content development, web usability, interactive marketing, search, social media and experience drawing recommendations from analytics and performance
- Advanced presentation and communication skills for both internal and external education
- In depth knowledge of Facebook Ads Manager and Business Manager
- In depth knowledge and proficient use of Adobe Photoshop
- In depth and proficient knowledge of Sprinklr or equivalent social media management, listening and scheduling tools.
- Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media
- Expertise in social media channels including, but not limited to: YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Houzz, Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook
- Intermediate working knowledge of digital analytics tools, Google Analytics a plus.
- Working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and highly knowledgeable in the principles of “Search and Social”
- Self-discipline with strong project management skills and great attention to detail to handle a number of projects simultaneously.
- Ability to juggle many tasks and projects flawlessly
- Ability to analyze data issues and produce working solutions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently
