LAUGH OUT LOUD, the multi-platform comedy brand founded by Kevin Hart, is looking for a Director, Social Media to join our team of innovative and creative thinkers working to get the world laughing together. Dope Comedy. Delivered Daily. Always On. Always Loud.
The Director, Social Media at LOL will be responsible for leading social strategy, managing social platform partnerships and developing ground-breaking social content and marketing campaigns for the LOL brand, its content and various partnership. The ideal candidate will be a creative and analytical leader with a passion for comedy and culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
CONTENT STRATEGY
- Set and execute a multi-platform social strategy for LOL and that serves and supports all of the company’s divisions including: Experiential (LOL X!), Long-Form Originals (LOL Studios), its FAST Channel/AVOD network (LOL Network) and podcasts, radio & audio book initiatives (LOL Audio).
- Build innovative social media campaigns to drive awareness of and engagement with LOL content – including library and original audio and video programming
- Develop strategies to maximize audience growth, engagement, content consumption/sharing and monetization across the LOL Social ecosystem
- Oversee LOL’s social strategy and content calendar, incorporating key needs and initiatives from productions, brand partnerships, audio, experiential, and distribution teams
- Establish and oversee cross-platform publishing for all LOL social channels including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, SNAP, TikTok, etc.
- Lead a team of social strategists, community managers and content producers to meet and exceed all social KPI.
- Develop existing social media team and hire/onboard new talent to grow the function
CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
- Work with a variety of content development resources (video editors, producers, graphic designers, copywriters, etc.) to create social content and programming across LOL’s social ecosystem
- Lead development of a slate of social-specific, short-form programming for LOL’s social platforms
- Support sales team in development and execution of branded content initiatives via social
- Collaborate with development and production teams to create social extensions of LOL original content.
- Lead social agency relationships to develop world-class social marketing creative
- Lead the development of campaign creative across all social channels and work with creative marketing across all disciplines to ensure cohesion
- Establish creative partnerships across all social platforms and drive innovation with each partner
- Partner with internal production teams to ensure efficiencies in all production across social channels
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
- Brainstorm new, exciting social campaigns to engage with LOL talent and the broader comedic community
- Lead team to optimize posting and engagement strategies across all social media accounts audience engagement across all social media accounts
- Identify and set our brands social voice and brand tone foster social conversation and engagement
- Expand influence and reach, among new target audiences and increase share of voice and engagement by leveraging emerging social properties and our exclusive content offerings.
- Identify and manage influencer engagement opportunities across all social platforms.
SOCIAL INSIGHTS & ANALYTICS
- Oversee social media reporting audience development and engagement KPIS across platforms
- Select and manage social analytics vendors
- Serve as internal audience expert on LOL’s social audiences and their preferences
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Degree in marketing, business, communications or related area preferred
- 8+ years in content marketing and social media (entertainment industry experience preferred)
- Detail oriented with strong ability in written and verbal communication
- Strong understanding of the content landscape, and experience launching filmed entertainment marketing campaigns
- Ability to work independently, balance priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Must have a strong sense of humor, high level of accountability, and passion for comedy + pop culture
- Knowledge of, and a passion for, the digital media and entertainment industries and their key players
- Confident, collaborative, and communicative with an ability to keep calm under pressure
- Experience working with talent/influencers in a content-driven capacity is a plus!
- Multicultural marketing and/or content experience, strongly preferred
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Some overtime and weekends required
