Role Overview

WCG has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate self-starter to join our agency as an account executive. The ideal candidate has a passion for social media, influencer marketing, and media relations and is interested in working alongside experienced professionals across accounts in the food and nonprofit industries. The candidate should be adept at the full range of integrated communication disciplines, including social media, content marketing, digital support, and traditional media relations.

This position will be based in our Chicago office, but is currently a work-from-home position until further notice as a COVID-19 pandemic safety measure.

Core Responsibilities

· Contribute to the creation and implementation of integrated communications marketing activations that meet and exceed client objectives

· Execute multiple projects from conception to completion by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline adherence

· Manage day-to-day activities, including social calendar development, community management and paid social. Additional day-to-day support for influencer, media relations and sponsorship activities.

· Contribute to status updates, media monitoring, and tracking, building media lists, drafting media materials and client communications, etc.

· Support client website activities including content development, SEO, content uploads, and measurement.

· Aid in new business process including idea contribution, research, and proposal preparation

· Contribute to a positive and engaging team and workplace culture

· Commit to continuous learning and creative thinking; set and pursue goals

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field from an accredited college or university

· 1-2 years of relevant experience in integrated communications marketing and media relations (agency experience preferred)

· Ability to support multiple small and medium-sized projects simultaneously

· Strong research, writing, and editing skills, and attention to detail

· Interest and knowledge of website activities including content management, content uploads, basic website updates, and SEO

· Expertise with social media platforms and tools

· Interest in social media and learning about new trends or channels

· Interest in working with influencers and content creators to creatively tell a brand’s story

· Understanding of media relations and the current media landscape

· Enjoy media pitching (phone, email, and social media channels)

· Thrive and be flexible in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

· Take a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and issues management

· Knowledge or experience with WordPress or similar content management systems, as well as food/beverage, international brand work and not-for-profit experience, are pluses
