Senior Content Strategist
Overview
As the Senior Content Strategist, you’ll make the brand’s Expertise pillar come alive through original content development and planning across all channels, including web, social media, email newsletters, store, the What’s Good by V blog, and more.
You’ll work within the content & creative teams to create engaging, meaningful content that resonates with our loyal customers and entices new ones. You’ll own the editorial and social media calendars, and collaborate with various marketing, retail, and merchant owners to support first-class brand and launch campaigns that focus on helping people become their best selves, however they define it.
Responsibilities
- Manage all social media platforms—planning, brainstorming, creating, and curating daily content that includes infographics, inspirational quotes, product and lifestyle photography, video, and user-generated content.
- Oversee The Vitamin Shoppe blog, WhatsGoodbyV.com. Write and edit service pieces and essays centered on health, fitness, nutrition, weight loss, beauty, and general well-being.
- Conceive story ideas, field pitches, and assign work to a network of freelance writers and experts in the health and wellness space.
- Own the department’s editorial and social media calendars, and sync up content planning with other marketing channels.
- Work closely with graphic designer to display content in a visually compelling way that captures the brand look and feel.
- Utilize content to tell the story of The Vitamin Shoppe brand reinvention and its three pillars: quality, innovation, and expertise.
- Help develop influencer marketing programs, and supervise and grow Wellness Council of expert influencers.
- Collaborate with in-house video producer/editor to script, shoot, and edit short, social media-friendly videos centered on health, food, and fitness.
- Work closely with marketing team to support rewards program, product launches, and promotions through compelling organic content.
- Recruit new writers, experts, and video talent.
- Write and curate weekly e-newsletter.
- Develop and write monthly in-store educational signage.
- Partner with digital merchandising team to populate VitaminShoppe.com with relevant editorial content and shoppable videos.
- Optimize blog content for SEO and sales conversion.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises social media specialist within the department
Qualifications
Required Knowledge:
- Strong comprehension of AP grammar guidelines
- Familiarity with Word Press
- Ability to understand and interpret scientific studies, and break down into simplistic terms for consumer readership.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of experience creating content for digital and/or magazine publications, brands, or content marketing agencies.
- Experience working in the health and wellness space, or a strong, demonstrable interest in it.
Skills and Ability:

- Strong understanding of journalism standards and application
- An impeccable eye for detail
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and remain composed under pressure

- Special attention to fact-checking and legal parameters of health content creation
