The Account Director (New Business) will act as a key player in supporting the growth of Known’s Consumer Brand Creative department. This individual will be responsible for evaluating potential partner and client relationships and new business opportunities, as well as leading the scoping/budgeting process and shepherding the proposal development/pitch process from start to finish for highly qualified leads. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to develop complex, integrated marketing budgets inclusive of TV, digital marketing, radio, OOH, print, digital video, social media, influencer marketing, live action, and experiential production, etc. They will also possess the strong project management and organizational skills necessary for guiding a smooth transition from pitch to account servicing and project management post-win. Superb verbal and written communication skills will be critical for success in this role, as well as strong presentation skills.

The Account Director (New Business) should possess a hands-on, dynamic approach that will effectively and efficiently support the RFI/RFP response and pitch process—through presentation and deck development, budget & project management, client communication and overall marketing acumen to close new Consumer Brands accounts for Known.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work with VP to intake all new business opportunities and act as an initial touchpoint for each new lead to determine overall scope, expectations, timeline and budget
  • Conduct research and qualifications on prospective clients and their products/services to develop understanding of their needs, value prop, etc.
  • Collect/present key agency qualifications/information and develop storytelling to incite prospective client’s interest in the agency during the RFI process
  • Lead proposal/pitch development and planning. Shepherd cross-functional coordination and collaboration with strategy, data science, media planning and creative leads across the agency to ensure pitches are impactful and successful
  • Own the development of the pitch deck (Google Slides), working cross-functionally with department leads to ensure quality control of story, flow and overall inputs of each respective component/section
  • Develop scopes and integrated marketing budgets to support prospective client needs, inclusive of (but not limited to): TV, Radio, OOH, Print, Digital Advertising, Social Media (Paid/Organic), Influencer Marketing, Web, etc.
  • Lead the development of cutting-edge creative and strategic responses to RFPs in conjunction with the Client Services, Media and Creative teams
  • Progress, track, and report regularly on the pipeline of new Consumer Brands business opportunities
  • Oversee project management of RFI, RFP and overall client pitch process. Guide the smooth transition from prospect to opportunity to new client

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a full-service integrated advertising agency or production company as either an Executive Producer, Account Director or in a Business Development Director capacity
  • Proven success developing scopes and proposals for new business
  • Strong verbal, presenting and writing skills; ability to create sincere, authentic bonds with clients
  • Clear understanding of media landscape, including TV (linear, CTV, addressable), Digital (Programmatic, Social, Search, Native), Audio (Radio, Streaming, Podcasting) and emerging media
  • Knowledge of agency services, inclusive of strategy, creative, production, metrics-based media, and data analytics
  • Mission-driven, goal-driven, and data-driven
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Reliable self-starter capable of working with a high degree of autonomy
  • Ability to design consumer-led solutions to uncover insights, build consumer-centric journeys
  • Fluency with Google product suite/Microsoft 365 applications required and an aptitude for learning technology tools quickly
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities

Education/Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in advertising within a fast-paced agency environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
