Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication or a related field and one year of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits. Grade ND1 Wage Minimum $ 15.41/hour
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have three years of professional experience with B2C social media marketing and content development, excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Indesign, Illustrator Photoshop, Premier Pro, Spark) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus
- Direct experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprinklr, sprout or other)
This person needs to be internally-motivated and deadline-driven with excellent organizational, written, and oral communications skills and experience with all current social media platforms. They must have the ability to work during regular working hours and be available for attention to social accounts intermittently during evenings and weekends. They should also have experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Position Description
This position serves as the primary social media content professional reporting to the Director of Marketing for the University of Louisville College of Business. A successful candidate is expected to work independently and under direction to accomplish College marketing goals supporting brand and enrollment. This is a front-line position for the department and requires that this person have the ability to commute to locations around campus and occasionally around the Louisville metro and surrounding areas and to accomplish their work. They also must have the interpersonal ability and technical skills to successfully meet, interview, photograph, video, and positively engage with various people for posting to social media content. Work includes regular working office hours and attention to social media accounts intermittently during evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Work with the College of Business PR/Marketing department team to execute and maintain organic social content to support branding, marketing, and engagement
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create a social media calendar and implement content strategy
- Work with digital marketing and creative content team to support both organic and paid social content
- Develop content: curate content, write posts, design graphics, take photos, and shoot/edit videos
- Stay aware of breaking opportunities in social news and respond as necessary or as it develops
- Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
- Measure traffic and monitor SEO through full analytics and reporting of the accounts and activity and provide recommendations and insights for improvements.
- Support processes that connect social media to other marketing channels and communication strategies
- Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategies.
- Attend events and produce live social media content.
- Meet with clients and work teams to interview, instruct, and engage for project goals
- Perform social and reputation listening and report results
