POSITION OVERVIEW

Superplastic is seeking a talented junior or mid-level Graphic Designer for our fast-growing character-based product and animated entertainment brand.
Superplastic creates animated celebrities and makes them famous on social media, and then makes money through animated media, licensing, influencer marketing, and product sales.
The ideal candidate has at least 1-5 years of professional experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects. A strong individual design eye and instincts for gradient, color, layering, and texture is a must. Affinity for pop culture, and a knowledge of past and present fashion, music, character art, and design references is also important.
The Graphic Designer will report to our Lead Motion / Graphic Designer while developing art direction and graph design for all marketing and Superplastic brand needs such as:
- Digital ad campaigns that induce FOMO.
- Campaign videos that are ridiculously fun and compelling.
- Amazing website creative.
- Graphic design, illustration, and photography that is so good they make our fans cry.
- Creative concepting and execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work within creative timelines, handle workflow and maintain accuracy of work with the support of the creative team and Executive Creative Director.
- Create and execute web, social media, print, video, and other design projects based on creative direction (hopefully making them WAYYY better), while staying on-brand and on-message.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Create and contribute new designs/concepts as needed. Contribute to ideation and creative process.
- Keep abreast of current design and cultural trends.
- Design newsletters, ads, and social media for Superplastic and its characters.
- Design apparel, toys, tech packs, packaging, posters, and other character-based products.
- You will materially contribute to the future of our company as we grow.
- Photo/video background and ability to edit and manipulate video like a ninja: Motion Graphics, Video, and Photography all a HUGE +!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of agency or professional design experience
- Must have digital and photo/video experience.
- Specifically looking for skill-sets in digital, graphic design, and photo/video.
- A strong and individual design eye, with an affinity for popular culture, especially fashion, music, comics/animation, and design.
- Ability to produce complex creative in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
- Ability to create design layouts based on concepts and/or direction from creative briefs.
- Skilled in developing and articulating visual concepts.
- Excellent knowledge of pop culture, social media, and content development.
- Strong conceptual development, visualization, typography, and design layout skills.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail & strong communication skills. You must find collaboration a joy!
- Ability to work within deadlines, deliver on time, and be organized in your workflow.
