As SVP of Advertising & Media Sales you will develop and lead the growth in one of our most strategic sub-verticals. Reporting to the EVP of Sales you will lead a sales department, driving revenue in our advertising and media marketplace vertical, your duties will include motivating your sales team, designing strategic sales plans, and assessing pricing and the competition. In addition to being an excellent communicator, our ideal candidate will also demonstrate exceptional negotiation and leadership skills.
This person will be responsible for the growth of the Advertising and Media sub-vertical by driving the strategy in marketing, product, sales, and support. This field of use covers any connected vehicle data for the purposes of advertising including audience analytics and providing data to inform targeted advertising including via infotainment capabilities of the vehicle. The position will be responsible for developing the strategic growth plan for this diverse market by carrying out the appropriate market research, analysis, and planning to create the right go-to-market initiatives from inception to measure.
What we require for the position is a highly experienced, dynamic, creative leader to lead integrated marketing/GTM/Sales activities by leading a matrixed team responsible for demand generation, content strategy, social, influencer marketing, and creative. The position is ideally based in Metro NYC (or UK) with global market responsibility, global growth across a subset of product lines and alignment with cross-matrixed regional marketing leads across the portfolio globally. This person should be a recognized Advertising and Media industry expert and be widely connected to industry experts and leaders.
This is a demanding, hands-on role, where you will be focused on delivery alongside those you manage. You will lead by example, inspiring those in the team with your determination and creative thinking – but most of all with your results.
Mission & Objectives
- Responsible for driving the annual sales and revenue targets globally
- Develop & implement Wejo business sales strategy
- Understand and effectively communicate the company's value prop, tech, process and current partnerships
- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
- Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors
- Maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees. As well as counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- Desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with ability to find solutions and deliver results within a rapidly changing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven culture
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams, for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Work with the Sales, Account Management and Operations, teams to implement targeted sales strategy
- Analyze pipeline and lead data, deliver periodic reporting to the sales and marketing teams providing key business insights: typical reporting relates to Demand Generation, Pipeline Forecast and Trends, Conversion Rates, Target Account, Market Segmentation, Win/Loss
- Define current and potential business opportunities in the marketplace, suggest, request and champion the development of appropriate products to access profit streams
- This is a work from home role but will require frequent client and prospect interaction, including global travel (as allowed by COVID travel regulations).
Skills & Experience
- Experience in selling Automotive / location data in or to traffic, mapping, parking, geo-location and government markets is highly desirable
- Strong track record in exceeding sales targets annually. Saas subscription sales background preferred.
- Must be an innovative, out-of-the-box thinker with proven experience in developing demand generation programs to drive leads and pipeline resulting in strong ROI.
- Experience in working with cross matrixed large team/s of diverse marketers across content, creative and social as well as quarterback across Sales and additional Marketing teams (brand, online, events, PR, operations, Trailblazer marketing,) to deliver one cohesive Go To Market Strategy.
- Industry experience in content creation and public speaking.
- Very commercially aware, a self-starter
- Proven success working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Ability to prepare reports and use of appropriate mode of communication. Must be proficient at analyzing data, building reporting and making strategic recommendations based on data and trends
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Experience working as part of an international management team
- Strong leader and manager of people, who understands how to build and maintain a highly performant sales team
- Reviewing daily Management information (MI) and Business intelligence (BI) to identify and highlight issues or concerns, working with the data to create reports and actionable insights and driving this into our business and our partnerships
- Constantly reviewing, monitoring and analyzing the performance of the customers against agreed targets working closely to ensure performance levels are maintained
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships and active engagement with customers and other key stakeholders (whether internal or external to our partners’ business) ensuring that customer needs are identified through regular consultation and/or collaboration.
- Working closely with partners to promote, develop and grow the strategic partnerships together with effective processes e.g. information sharing, assessment through the following: -
- Supporting key partnership meetings
- Delivering key aspects of the partnership plans
- Reviewing and appraising the work of partnerships
- Overseeing day-to-day operations focusing on the long-term interests of the business
- Ensuring that appropriate and relevant information is collected, records are kept and that reports in relation to the partnerships are written and presented as required
